" सुख " is a pleasure derived from senses. The sensual experience has inherent incompleteness embedded in it and hence happiness derived from satisfaction of senses is also incomplete. Our True Self is nothing but God Consciousness and we forget this reality due to ignorance. Identifying God Consciousness with the body-mind-intellect trio enslaves One to the wheel of suffering arising from painful rotation of deaths and rebirths. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that man's life span is being diminished by each passing moment and breath and hence One must not waste them in frivolous pursuits. One must attain Enlightenment while living in this body.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, so long we take refuge in the instinctive or worldly mind, we suffer. Rooted in false ego sense, all sensual desires are meant for prolongation of life in the body, improving bodily health, amassing wealth and indulging in worldly pleasures. It is the mind bewildered by worldly illusions that craves material gains and fears any loss. This is the real suffering. Every material joy is a suffering in disguise.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that in our birth process, the entry into the womb for the subtle body is a journey from the known of subtle world to the unknown, the world of womb. As the womb is a completely unknown situation to subtle body, it experiences varying degrees of fear.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says,
The suffering of being in the womb is stifled by unbearable smells and impurities, totally confined in utter darkness. Staying in womb is like being in hell because One has to put up with great suffering while the body remains totally constricted. Placed within the amnion and covered outside by intestines, the child suffers terrible agony because of his tenderness.
The child in the womb praying out of bewilderment and repentance, realises that he is neither independent nor supreme. He seeks shelter from the Divine Lord, perceiving that the Lord in his heart is the Supreme Master and he is His subordinate. The child realises that he has been reduced to this abominal condition because of his forgetfulness of God. He wants to get out, but he understands that he can do so only by the mercy of the Divine Lord, and thus he seeks His blessings.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says,
At the door of death, One is all alone, devoid of all his bodily attachments and relatives. The Time eats away the perishable, frail and weak human body bit by bit. It dissolves slowly and steadily into the very elements from which it had come. Sant Tukaram Maharaj illustrates this with a beautiful analogy. He says, the bodily soil becomes One with earth and the endless cycle of suffering continues reflecting the accumulated deeds of previous births. In other words, that which dies with the death of the body is the " I am the body " idea. The vicious cycle of sufferings is on its way shortly as soon as it assumes another Body Consciousness taking new birth.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that devotion to the Holy Ram Nam is nothing but devotion to His Lotus Feet. All passions and all delights take to their heels once you get to His Lotus Feet.
Refuge at the feet of Master takes One to the desirelessness. "
