" The purpose of this rarest of rare human birth is Realisation of Self that pervades everything and everywhere equally. Thus life is not an end by itself but very significant means to the end. However if man becomes overly attached with life, then naturally he will be unable to transcend it and in the process, he will be lost in the means and miss out the opportunity to understand something deeper, far significant and superior. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj has elucidated this thought. He says,
Prarabdha (प्रारब्ध कर्म) is like an arrow shot from the Archer's bow. It's destined to hit. There is no way to extinguish it's effect except bearing it. It's due to this Karma that we have got the current configuration in this earthly world. Karma means the universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction that governs life. He hopes if we can understand and see the total nonsense of our mistakes we have been repeating since time immemorial, may be then we can learn from them. For the learning makes One Wise.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that his bodily existence is just like an actor enacting a role in a play. As the falsity of play never goes out of mind of the actor, Sant Tukaram Maharaj is well aware of the illusory experience of this bodily existence and hence remains absolutely uninvolved.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that he nullifies the Prarabdha Karma by experiencing the sum total of all kinds of sufferings rather than exchanging them. He says, the human beings spend their entire lifetime pursuing only worldly goals, little realising that all attachments will be of no avail when the end comes, except the Name of Supreme Lord Shri Ram, the Divine Name. "
