In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj portrays a Self Realised Soul. He says,
Upon experiencing the Spiritual Awakening, One simply becomes witness to his life, without any trace of emotional entanglements. He accepts everything he undergoes as the Divine Will with equanimity of mind. He is like the water drops which do not adhere to the Lotus Leaf. Being open to everything, his mind remains detached from everything.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that living in the eternity of the "NOW" is the highest state of the conscious mind. The Self Realised Soul is so content from within that he accepts the life as it presents itself to him. Like the river water, he flows freely with the life, finding his ways around the "ups" and "downs" of the life, and letting go of everything that blocks his energy. He faces everything in the light of the eternity of "NOW", and not in the darkness of the past or future.
It is the Light of the Knowledge, that dispels man's ignorance of his True Self within. This Light is none other than the Divine Knowledge, which cannot be perceived by material senses such as our eyes blinded by cataract of Maya, the illusion.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the Self Realised Soul indwells the body knowing that he is not the body. Illustrating this with beautiful analogies, he says, just like a fire which consumes everything in its clutches, remains ever untouched by the goodness or badness of whatever it burns. Similarly the Spiritually Wise remains untouched by cacophony of world around.
It is said that humility abides in the heart of those fortunate ones who are endowed with Divinity from within. It puts One in a right relation to God and His Creation, being a starting point of Selflessness. The humility of Self Realised Soul is his true contentment which is rejoicing in every situation or adversity.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that for a Spiritually Wise, what is bad is good, and what is good is good.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the journey of Self Realisation is a continuous and unending process of purification from within. From One Supreme Pure Bliss, we have come, in it we evolve and in the end, in that Pure Bliss we melt again. The Pure Bliss being our True Self, Realizing it, while living in this body, is the Self Realisation. "
