" In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj sees himself as a warrior on the battle ground of mind laden with worldly desires. He says,
Desire being the mode of the emotive mind possesses a power of externalising the mind. The Thought-Fire is kept up by the Desire-Fuel. If you withdraw the supply of fuel, the fire will be withdrawn into its womb.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that desire, thought and arrogance form one vicious cycle. They are the three corner stones of the edifice of mind. Sin begins as a thought and destroys peace.
Just as heat is inseparable from fire, the tossing of mind is inseparable from the mind. The fluctuating mind alone creates the universe. The lurking under currents of subtle, hidden desires may surface suddenly if One is not vigilant and cautious and may bring about the downfall eventually.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that a counter desire, a desire for God only can destroy all other worldly desires. This is the way to put down vicious desires by virtuous desires. Non desire is itself Pure Supreme Bliss. Such a bliss is generated only through one's conscious efforts.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that One needs to be free from the grip of crocodile of desires without getting disheartened under trials because desireless man is the richest man in the world. It is by drinking the Water of Life which is incessant recital of Holy Ram Nam, the mind goes still and becomes fearless."
