" It is said that God can be experienced in two aspects as, NIRGUNA and SAGUNA.
NIRGUNA is the eternal all pervading and Omnipresent Divine Consciousness while SAGUNA is the manifestation of God in form.
God is in everything and everything is God. Just like in a Stick Dance, the distinct sound echos when two sticks rap together, God manifests uniquely from the perfect confluence of the Form and Formless aspects of Him. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that God in NIRGUNA form is everywhere and in everything. But it cannot be comprehended easily with our human intellect. The ultimate goal is to become One with the Supreme Consciousness, the NIRGUNA form of God. But the medium through which we can reach this goal is the embodied form of God, SAGUNA. Illustrating with beautiful analogy of Sticks Dance he says, One must emulate the Wise in the world play of Consciousness. Just like the Wise, who play the sticks in a stick dance in such a way that there is a perfect synchronisation of their body and mind which is needed for Self Realisation, while taking due care that the sticks do not crash on their hands. In other words they make a conscious effort, not to let their mind wander away from the Self Within, their Supreme Abode.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that mere playing is worthless unless One understands how to seek enjoyment from it.The outer embellishments are but useless if the world play of Consciousness is to be played by its rules.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the journey of Self Realisation is a play only for those who dare, for it needs the courage of conviction and fearlessness on the part of seeker. One needs to get absorbed in the incessant Name Worship of Supreme Lord Vitthal, using his body as a conduit for the mind to become One with Supreme Consciousness. It is a slow but sure way to transcendence without getting entangled in different ways to seek the Supreme Divine, the Secondless and Eternal, forever. "
