It is said that
" This material world is like a potter's wheel. It looks like stand still, though it revolves at tremendous speed. Just so, to the body conscious person this world appears to be stable, though in fact it is ever changing. "
It is impossible to comprehend the Infinite God with Finite Body Consciousness because Finite body centric thinking can at the most apprehend Him.
Consciousness and Substance are the two primal suspects of Being. To identify only with one or other is to assume a stance in the world which is incomplete, unfulfilled.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the Body Consciousness which is nothing but the delusion of sense enjoyment. However more One enjoys, the more he will suffer. With the rise of the false ego comes the mistake of identifying the Infinite Self within with the finite form of the body.
Exemplifying with beautiful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj says,
Just like the bed bugs in their limited vision find their journey of climbing a bed analogous to visiting a huge Fort, it is impossible for One to grasp his linking with the God Consciousness while lost in the pitch darkness of Body Consciousness.
In another analogy he says,
For a tiny worm spiralled around its seed, the Ber Fruit is nothing but a Cosmos in itself. Similar One who holds " I am the body " idea firmly, the whole world revolves around doing everything possible for sense gratification and nothing else.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that One clouded by veil of ignorance is absorbed in his self praise and his king like demeneor is indicative of his dominant Body Consciousness.
Last but not the least, just like a Frog for whom his pond is the world entire, One in his mental stubbornness ends up wasting life in all sorts of unmeaning rituals, lip worship and decorating his perishable body.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that Becoming Liberated means annihilation of the Body Consciousness, as it can easily abandoned by those who have ascended themselves to the mode of Goodness or Purity within. "
