" It is said that (विवेक ) is a subtle sense of discrimination which helps One to know the difference between Truth and Falsehood or Eternal and Ephemeral. Only a person of Discernible Intelligence (विवेक बुद्धी) knows that the Supreme Self alone is Eternal and that everything else in this fleeting world, within the boundaries of time and space is temporary. In this composition Sant Tukaram earnestly urges One to consciously develop this sense of clear understanding, as it's the way to purify the mind, for pure mind alone can lead One on his journey of Self Realisation.
He says, we are fortunate to be born as humans, as the practice of devotion can be pursued consciously only in this rarest of rare human birth. One must clear his path of all impediments to make his journey fruitful. Similarly the body, mind and intellect together make the formidable walls around our True Self, preventing us even a glimpse of it.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the only way One can transcend from Body Consciousness to the Most High is by becoming righteous, truthful and immersed in the incessant Name Worship of Holy Ram Nam, for there is no devotion without Virtue.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that he alone is wealthy who possesses the Wisdom of Discernment (विवेक बुद्धी). It leads One from darkness of ignorance to the light of Divine Knowledge. Unless One makes a conscious effort to Awaken this quality within and constantly identify with it, there is no respite from the endless and cruel cycle of deaths and rebirths. "
