"A Self Realised Spiritual Master like a torchbearer, illuminates the path of Self Realisation to the masses by the light of his Wisdom. Illustrating this thought with a beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a Spiritual Master shares Wisdom of his True Self just like a delicacy is served according to the individual digestive power of the recipient. In other words by the level of understanding of the recipient, the Spiritual Master suggests the means of attaining the Self Realisation which may be by Devotion or by Knowledge or by Renunciation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like during meal, different tastes culminate into overall contentment from within, no matter how we worship and praise GOD, the Eternal sweetness emanating from them is unmistaken. One is rewarded of the Spiritual Bliss in the vicinity of a Self Realised Soul who doesn't discriminate while sharing his wisdom .
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in the company of a Self Realised Soul, One gets an opportunity to learn from the Master who has attained Self Realisation by diligence and practice. And hence to learn of the journey of Self Realisation directly from a Self Realised Soul is foolproof and utterly unadulterated. It is like consuming half eaten food to avoid undesirable consequences. The Ecstasy of Supreme Bliss One experiences by doing so is unparalleled."

"We have our senses to perceive the world, but behind all perception and thought is simply Pure Awareness itself which is Our Awareness of Awareness. Everything, living or inanimate, is an inseparable and indivisible part of Supreme Consciousness. It is only illusion, caused by mind and the play of the senses, which makes us regard the world and everything in it, as real and separate from us. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Oneness of Supreme Consciousness where all forms emerge out of it, remain sustained by it and ultimately merge back into it. He says, "I am the body" idea is a spell cast by Maya, the Divine Hypnosis which creates an illusion that our existence is separate from the Divine Essence, when it is not. This ignorance of our True Nature as Pure Consciousness begets false ego sense or a sense of Duality.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a fruit contains a seed and seed again bears a fruit, Maya is not separate or different from the Supreme Consciousness. It is but its inherent power which makes happen the mirage like phenomenal world of names and forms.
Illustrating with meaningful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Eternal Oneness of Supreme Consciousness which is the Self in individual beings. He says, just like in delicacies made from wheat, the delicacies resemble Maya and the wheat resembles the Eternal Truth of Supreme Consciousness, all beings are in the Self, and the Self is in all beings.
In another analogy he says, as all ornaments are expression of Gold, upon melting of the ornaments, the Gold still remains as Gold, nothing happens to it. Similarly the endless forms of One Supreme Consciousness are the expression of GOD, and they have no existence separate from Him.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the life giving Essence is only One, GOD the Supreme Indweller. He is subtler than the subtle, smaller than the smallest and also the most vast. His reflection is hidden in all, for the effects cannot remain away from their cause, for they are born of their cause, exist in their cause, and merge back to become One with their cause."

"On the pursuit of Spiritual Wisdom One needs guidance from a Truly Spiritually Wise, a Self Realised Soul, whose teachings enlighten the masses to seek GOD, the Supreme Indweller of all beings. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj has elucidated  this thought with a beautiful analogy. He says, a Self Realised Soul has a store having GOD's Name as the only merchandise. He eagerly awaits a buyer who values his merchandise, to whom he offers it generously. The  sacred merchandise of GOD's Name remains undepleted forever. Rare few know of its worth and hence seek it from the store of Spiritually Wise. Regardless of them seeking this merchandise generously to reach the pinnacle of their contentment, it's count remains unchanged.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the body sack of the Self Realised Soul is full of the merchandise of GOD's Name and it remains forever full, for to be intuitively absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD is nothing but becoming One with God. "

True Devotion is seeing all beings as images of GOD and bowing down to them with reverence. Enjoying glory of the Supreme Consciousness by becoming One with it is the True Wisdom and inculcating mindful distaste to worldly attachments in perfect confluence with freedom from "I am the body" idea are the prerequisites of a Self Realised Soul.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like for cooking water, fire and grains each have a role of its own, so is the necessity of the True devotion, Wisdom of Supreme Self and Renunciation in the making of a Self Realised Soul.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, there are no shortcuts on the journey of Self Realisation, the journey itself is the best way to attain the highest reward, our True Self."

"It is said that "While alive, the body attracts attention and fascinates so completely that rarely does One perceive his True Self. It is like seeing the surface of the ocean and completely forgetting the immensity beneath."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the falsity of "I am the body" idea. He says, as long as we imagine ourselves to be separate personalities, one quite apart from another, the reality remains beyond our grasp, which is essentially impersonal. First we must know ourselves as witnesses only and then realise the immense ocean of Pure Awareness, which is both mind and matter and beyond both.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the body we wear in the present life is governed by our Prarabdha Karma and there is no way out of it. Even GOD is His reincarnation is not spared from its inevitability. He says, it is worthless to lament on sufferings due to One's Prarabdha Karma which neither can be changed nor can be altered. It is better to let it take it's own course, for that is the only way to be rid of it.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj wishes to remain absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD wholeheartedly, for it is the only antidote to the poison of "I am the body" idea which brings bondage of worldly attachments.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the way to Truth lies through annihilation of the false. To do so One needs to confront his deeply ingrained beliefs. Of these, "I am the body" idea is worst."

"It is said that when GOD Shriram, the Indweller in all hearts, is bound by the rope of devotion and tethered to the post of the tongue, He gets bound to the devotee.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Name Worship of GOD through Holy Ram Nam. He says, Name of GOD is sweeter than the sweetest of things in the world, and those who taste of it lose an appetite for all else. The more One absorbs himself in chanting Holy Ram Nam, a marked distaste towards worldly attachments starts seeping in slowly but steadily.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, practicing Name Worship of GOD helps One to break free from bondage of "I am the body" idea, an ignorance which is the root cause of all sufferings.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Holy Ram Nam is the food to the soul and he who tastes it lives in perpetual bliss all the time. He says, a rare soul gets to this Elixir of life, for whoever drinks it, surely transcends beyond the the realm of repeated sufferings of death and rebirth. By devotion, One beholds GOD and practicing His Name Worship, he tastes the Essence of GOD."

"It is said that "Conscience is the light of intelligence to distinguish right from wrong."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Destiny or Prarabdha Karma, a cumulative effect of actions in our past lives, influencing our present life. He says, GOD indwells everyone, yet each is bound by his own destiny. Elucidating this thought he says, our destiny compels us to act in a particular way to make what becomes of us in our present life. And hence we see discrimination in the way of life of people all around us. Their trades differ by their destiny. The root cause of this discrimination is our actions or Karma in our past lives. Nothing can be done about them. However if One makes a conscious effort to follow the path of righteousness in our present life and keeps a watchful eye on his actions, there is a possibility to break free from the cause and effect bondage of our Karmic Cycle at least in our future lives, for all is well that ends well.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a Palanquin, a Covered Litter (पालखी) trasporting a passenger sitting comfortably inside, is carried by Bearers on their shoulders, subjecting themselves to heavy burden. Though  both the Passenger and the Palanquin Bearers are reflections of GOD Consciousness, each follow footsteps of their own destiny and accordingly live their way of life. In other words the plurality amidst Oneness of GOD is unmistaken.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a farm yield differs according to whether the land is fertile or barren, we reap what we sow. Every choice we make is a seed, for what we will do in our present life will make our destiny in next life. He says, we are free to choose actions in our present life, but we are not free from the consequences of our choice of actions."

It is said that "A wave appears. It is there in a sense, but still it is not there in the deeper sense. In a deeper sense only ocean is. You cannot have a wave without ocean, and even while the wave is there, only the ocean is. The wave is just a play form. The wave happens and disappears, the ocean remains."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Non Duality of Supreme Consciousness where the apparent sense of separation of "me" and "you" is actually false. There is only the True Self. Everything is a part of it.
He says, at apocalypse (प्रलय), when water floods the earth entire along with its water reservoirs, the separateness of different water sources cease to exist. There remains no sense of more or less. The waves emanating from them merge in themselves. Their duality appears to be, but it is not so. Their Non Duality is the Truth.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Just like Oneness of ocean, we are One deep down while the individuality is false and illusory. The reality is Non Dual or Oceanic. There is no coming or going of water in the ocean, for there is no wave but simply "waving", a movement of matter which is ocean. At doomsday when apocalypse unfolds there is no rising and setting of sun and moon, as if their duality is transcended forever.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, apocalypse points to our ignorance and an illusion coming to an end, for everything including apocalypse are means to make us One with GOD Consciousness."

"It is said that "A word to the Wise is enough, and many words won't fill a bushel."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about a Wise who understands things when they are hinted and don't necessarily need a full explanation, for saying too much doesn't always help One to come to firm conclusion. He says, a discerning eye needs only a hint. The discourses of a Spiritual Iluminary warn us of what will happen if we do not change our outlook of identifying us with our body.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, remedy at the right time saves One from the impending catastrophe. Illustrating with meaningful analogy he says, just like timely draining of an abscess saves the diseased from excruciating agony, the timely advice by a Spiritual Iluminary wakes us from the slumber of worldly attachments and hence shows us the way out of the gruelling and unending cycle of deaths and rebirths.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Words of Wisdom by a Spiritual Iluminary may seem to be harsh to hear, but One who will take their timely cognizance will surely save himself from regrets. He says, our worldly existence is a dream state caused by spell cast by Maya, the Mistress of Illusion. The Words of Spiritually Wise are just like a wake up call, to make us aware of the true purpose of this rare human birth, the Self Realisation. Else there is no way out from the web of deception which entices us in the labirynth of repeated sufferings  forever."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, old age is a final wake up call to jolt us from deep slumber of worldly attachments so that whatever time remains can be used to make this rare human birth fruitful. He says, white hair of old age whisper in our ear of the coming old age, a forewarning of the death which is nearby and inevitable.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj alerts One of the impending collapse when death will knock on the door, for then nothing can be done even if One regrets. Hence he implores the Old One to absorb himself in the Name Worship of GOD, for nothing is lost if there is a genuine realisation of what needs to be done urgently to make this precious human birth worthwhile. He says, nothing lasts forever and this body to whom we mistakenly identify as ourselves will disappear as if it never existed. Hence One must do Name Worship of GOD every moment he lives as if it is his last.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the relevance of worldly relations and worldly possessions is lost as soon as One dies. He says, intuitively absorbing in the Name Worship of GOD is the only way One can inculcate detachment from within, else there is no way out of the vicious circle of repeated sufferings forever. "

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, our Prarabdha Karma may appear mountainous to us, but it is trivial to GOD who pervades the world entire.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD's desire is to liberate his devotees from bondage to their flesh, ungodly thinking and worldly living. He says, our selfish ways imprison us. We cry out to be free. But only if we follow GOD's footsteps, we will find true Liberation."

"It is said that "Spiritual Awakening is a paradigm shift  from Individual Consciousness to GOD Consciousness."
Before awakening life appears to be a series of coincidences that we have a hand in orchestrating. It appears as if life is something we can exert our will upon in order to influence. But waking up spiritually feels like waking up from a dream and suddenly realising that the dream experience which seemed to be so real was actually rooted in lies, distortion and illusion. It is simply a tipping point, where One is connected to higher self and higher consciousness and becomes aware.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about his state of being a Living Liberated Soul or ( जीवन्मुक्त). He says, he lives in the world, but is not of the world and revels in the Eternal Bliss of the Supreme Self. He says, Liberation is not an after death phenomenon. It is simply detaching from mundane consciousness.
The fear of death is due to "I am the body" idea. But a Living Liberated is not afraid of death because his state is beyond body consciousness. He knows that he is not the body and hence the death in the worldly sense has no effect on him.
All that happens in our present life is due to Prarabdha Karma, which is an effect of our actions in our past lives. We are born with it and it is beyond our capacity to do anything about it. Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, being Living Liberated he is aware that not he but only GOD controls his body through reins of Prarabdha. In other words, he dances to the tune of his Prarabdha and the words he speaks are nothing but what GOD speaks through him.
He says, his freedom from bondage of "I am the body" idea is in itself a freedom from the sense of sins and virtues, as both are reflections of body consciousness.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, to be dead while alive is not to jump off a cliff or fall down from a roof. It is simply to be aware of our True Essence which remains forever Eternal even after the worldly death of physical body."

It is said that "Whoever does good shall be repaid back ten fold and One that does evil shall be repaid by evil."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Prarabdha Karma, a burden of our past lives. It is a part of all accumulated Karma of previous lives with which One is born and which influences the course of our present life. He says, there is nothing we can do about it, except doing a conscious effort of stopping the incessant refilling of the basket of our Sanchit Karma. This is possible only if we do Karma of our present life assuming that not we, but only GOD is the Doer. As this happens, there is a possibility, though very bleak, of becoming free from bondage of Prarabdha Karma or to attain Liberation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, since happenings due to Prarabdha Karma are beyond our control, a sense of regret towards them is useless, for remaining intuitively absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD One can witness his Prarabdha Karma unfold before him without he participating in it actively.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, entrusting our self completely on GOD is a gutsy thing. It is not possible to do so till One is prisoner of the belief that everything is in his hands. Only when One trusts in GOD and only GOD, miracles happen."

"Reality tells us that so much of what we spend our time worrying about never happens. Living under the weight of the "what if's" is hard place to dwell."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Prarabdha Karma is that portion of past Karma which is responsible for our present birth. It cannot be avoided or altered in any way. The only way out of it is to experience it. Hence One must live it entrusting himself entirely on GOD. He says, One must rest assured that amidst the anxious thoughts and worries of life, GOD is there, strengthening, helping, and He holds you in His hands.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, One must give to GOD all the stuff of mind, replacing the fearful thoughts with His words of Truth, for GOD knows what concerns you, He has got you covered. He says, fear is the root cause of all sufferings and hence we must surrender our mind to GOD completely, for transformation happens on the other side of surrender.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we might still be afraid, but we can still believe that GOD is with us. We may not be in control, but we can trust the One who is. We may not know the future, but we can know the GOD who does."

"It is said that "The distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."
Selling the illusion in the city of blind or ignorant is easy. But those who do so, distance themselves from GOD, the Ultimate Reality.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the true devotee of Supreme Lord Vishnu, who believes that everything that happens in his present life is only due to Prarabdha Karma, a cumulative effect of actions in his past lives affecting his present life, which cannot be avoided or changed. And hence he remains beyond reach of those who sell GOD as a time bound merchandize.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, confining the Timeless GOD wirhin the sense of past, present and future, itself is ignorance and all suffering is caused by ignorance. He says, there is no greater sin than playing on the emotions of people, enticing them into false ritualistic practices, ultimately worshipping the illusion which doesn't exists."

"It is said that "Liberation cannot be desired because desire is the bondage. When you are desireless, you are liberated."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, desirelessness does not come for the mere talking about it. One needs to live it. One has to go beyond the mind to experience the spiritual bliss of desirelessness.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Self Realisation cannot be pretended. A true ascetic has clarity of conscience and purity of heart. He doesn't have to make a pompous display of his renunciation, for renunciation which is natural does not herald it's coming by the blowing of trumpets. It comes in imperceptibly without anyone noticing it.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, had  living in the forest been the prerequisite for Self Realisation then all inhabitants of forest would have attained it. However it is not true.
He says, this rare human birth is an opportunity to break free of the bondage of endless cycle of deaths and rebirths. We are all in the same boat. One who will make a conscious effort to attain Liberation will succeed. It may not be in this birth but sometime in future, that is for sure.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy he says, mere entering a warehouse full of grains is not enough. One must make a conscios effort to cook food from it to have a digestible food. Similarly Self Realisation will not happen on its own sitting idle. One must make a conscious effort to make this precious and fleeting human existence fruitful to attain Liberation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, wearing ashes on the body is a symbol of renunciation and detachment from worldly desires. He says, the seeker on the journey of Self Realisation must do a constant introspection to find whether his devotion and knowledge is helping him on his journey to Self Quest or not. Otherwise it will be just a religious paraphernalia.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, seeking Self Realisation cannot be a prerogative of anyone particular. It has nothing to do with outward appearance or pretentions. It is a journey within and the only One who will be successful to win the prized catch of Liberation will be the One with Pure Conscience."

"It is said that Man is a GOD in making. Inside his body dwells the Self whose ultimate goal is to become One with the Supreme Self. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about "I am the body" idea which is the manifestation of Cosmic Charmer Maya, the Mistress of illusion. It is that which is not. He says, the body is the seat of soul. It is a living temple of GOD and a vehicle of Truth. Death and decay are for the body, not for the soul which is immortal and indestructible.
The false ego sense is accepting our body as Oneself. Due to material conditioning, the consciousness mistakenly attaches itself to the body, thus creating "I am the body" idea. It is the root cause of all sufferings since it cloaks our True Self by the veil of ignorance. In this ignorance One is prone to take his physical body as himself.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Liberation truly means becoming free from ignorance and returning to the original state of GOD Consciousness. He says, if One wants to know who he truly is, he should stop looking through the masks he wears and stop taking pride in his body consciousness. He says, only by being intuitively absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD, One can transcend the body consciousness forever."

"Just like a little child, for every little need turns to his mother and not to neighbours or other relatives, One must seek GOD with One Pointed Devotion, believing resolutely that nothing else but only He is the Saviour.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about One Pointed Devotion ( अनन्य भक्ति). He says, there is nothing more blissful than having One Pointed Devotion to the Divine. When One seeks GOD by One Pointed Devotion, he sees GOD in everybody and everything. By virtue of One Pointed Devotion to GOD, the devotee is able to realise GOD in his Self.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj illustrates One Pointed Devotion by meaningful analogies. He says, just like a faithful wife loves her husband wholeheartedly, One must seek GOD with One Pointed Devotion, without any expectations. He says, One needs courage of conviction and immense patience to do so, but GOD doesn't let down his true devotee, for He can see us inside out.
In another analogy he says, it is believed that Chatak Bird drinks rain water drop by drop as it pours down. However thirsty it may be, it does not drink any other kind of water, not from the streams or rivers. But when it gets thirsty, it calls the Rain GOD to make it rain and it is said that it's call never goes unanswered. Just like Chatak Bird's One Pointed Devotion to Rain GOD, One must have absolute faith that no matter what happens, GOD is always his fallback.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a sunflower eagerly awaits sunrise and bothers not about the nectar of immortality which the moon showers in the full moon night. Just like the sunflower, the seeker must awaIt GOD with absolute faith that soon GOD's light will shine him out of darkness, for you cannot walk in darkness when GOD is with you.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a cow allows only her calf to come near her, the One Pointed Devotion seeks only GOD and nothing else.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, when the devotee relies on GOD alone, the Lord leaves His own abode and enters the heart of the devotee, for the devotee to feel GOD's presence within him always."

"The Nature that presides over the destinies of all creatures comprises of three Gunas - Sattva, Raja and Tama. Everyone and everything has all three, only in different proportions. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about these three Gunas which are in constant flux, such that their interplay determines the form, quality and behaviour of all things.
Illustrating with beautiful analogies he says, just like venom of snake instills fear in the minds of people, similarly coping with an evil minded person having predominant Tama Guna, is no less than living on razor's edge.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in the very fabric of Creation, all material bodies of universe are made of five basic elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. However we witness the dance of happiness and sorrow  in people according to the influence of Sattva, Raja and Tama Gunas on each of them.
He says, just like a rich aroma of Sandalwood gives it a sense of Divinity, so is the predominance of Sattva Guna makes One loved by all.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like an occasional single grain in the cooked food remains raw, One having predominance of Tama Guna, remains prone to do evil things even if living amidst good people.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Sattva, Raja and Tama Gunas are other names of Goodness, Passion and Ignorance. Only a conscious cultivation of Sattva Guna unlocks the door to Self Realisation."

It is said that "GOD is everywhere, so pray anywhere."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, nearness of GOD is experienced when One remains intuitively absorbed in His Name Worship. He says, the journey of Self Realisation is to seek our True Self or GOD within. In a way His Name Worship is a way of making sure that GOD is with us always.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Name Worship of GOD illuminates our individual consciousness so that we can consciously cleanse the mind of its bad habits. For Conscious cultivation of our individual consciousness so that it ultimately becomes One with Supreme Consciousness, One must flood his subconscious mind with the Name Worship of GOD.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, to seek GOD, the Supreme Indweller, One needs to go nowhere but to journey within, for kingdom of GOD is within us. Love of GOD is to our Consciousness, like a string to a high flying kite."

"All our knowledge begins with the senses, proceeds then to the understanding, and ends with reason. There is nothing higher than reason. GOD has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand His wisdom, but we simply have to trust His will. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, our five senses are a kind of reason. More than merely the means of sensation they are the gates of wisdom. He finds himself dumbfounded when he experiences the prerogative of each of his five senses over others which is no less than a miracle, for miracles are not contrary to nature, but only contrary to what we know about nature. He says, tongue and hand are both made of muscle, yet taste remains solely a prerogative of tongue. He says, our five senses of touch, smell, sight, taste and hearing, all say only Truth, for we must not ignore GOD who encompasses them all with Absolute Truth.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, what can be more foolish than to think that all this rare fabric of heaven and earth could come by chance, when all the skill of art is not able to make an oyster."

"It is the mesmerising spell cast by Maya, the Mistress of Illusion which makes the Non Dual GOD appear to be separate from us, when actually there is no second. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj has elucidated this thought. He says, the sense of duality creates the perception that the entire cosmos is soaked in the waters of illusion or in other words flooded by ignorance. However the journey of Self Realisation removes the veil of ignorance and the Eternal Truth shines in its full glory. The waters of illusion  disappear as if they never exist.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a small but forceful stream of "I am the body" idea has flooded all the oceans and rivers, to have occupied the world entire in an illusion of that which is not.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like it will be utter exaggeration to say that a child of a barren woman is wearing One ear ring in both his ears, so is to believe in the notion of "I -ness" and the sense of "This is mine and this is yours", which is nothing short of an illusion.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, only when the heart is entirely empty of "I -ness" there can be enough space for GOD to dwell within, for One who has tasted the nectar of Self Realisation is no stranger to this Eternal Truth."

"The main theme of Karma or Actions is that of Cause and it's effect. Good actions bring good effects and bad actions bring bad effects. Behind every action there is the seed of desire. The desire prompts the thought which then manifests as action to realise the objects of the desire. Only the desire of GOD makes One desireless which is the true purpose of this rare human birth.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about our actions which are like sowing seeds, for every seed there is a particular fruit of it's kind.
He says, Sanchit Karma is the storehouse of actions we have ever done, in all the lifetimes we have ever lived. Prarabdha Karma is a part of Sanchit Karma with which we are born and must be lived with, for it is inevitable and it cannot be changed as well. Kriyaman Karma are our present actions, the fruits of which will be experienced in future.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, doing all our present actions or living Prarabdha assuming not us, but only GOD is the Doer, is the only way to stop the incessant accumulation in the storehouse of Sanchit Karma. In other words living Prarabdha Karma, absorbing ourselves deeply in the Name Worship of GOD is a slow but sure way to break free from the unending cycle of deaths and rebirths, for the Liberation will happen only when the bucket of Sanchit Karma will become empty.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, disease is a child of sense gratification. Just like a man desiring food beyond his capacity is bound to suffer from diarrhea, there is no way out for the One getting drowned in the vortex of uncontrollable sense desires.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the charm of worldly living is such that life is half spent before we know what it is. Hence he implores us to wake up from out deep slumber of ignorance to make this precious human birth worthwhile."

"It is said that "The object of your quest is within you, as the oil is in the sesame seeds. As the pupil is in the eye, so is the Lord in the body."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD is not found in temple or in ritual. If One's yearning is pure, he will see GOD in an instant. GOD reveals Himself in the form which His devotee loves most, for His love for the devotee knows no bounds.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, while you are alive, meditate and contemplate, for only in this rare human birth there is a hope of finding Him.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the mind hankers for that which it has not got. The mind which is possessive will be possessed. The real freedom comes when One unlearns possessiveness.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the seeker on the journey of Self Realisation must practice meditation by emptying the mind of its sense desires, for GOD lives in the heart of a desireless."

"It is said that "Speech is the mirror of the mind. Wise men speak because they have something to say. Fools because they have to say something."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about True Wisdom which comes from experience, for experience is a truer guide than words of others.
He says, wisdom before experience is only words, and hence regardless of embellishments, such words hardly make a lasting impact on the listeners. On the other hand a Wise walks his talk and hence his words influence the minds of the listeners to the extent that they try to follow the message in their life. Voice is not just the sound that comes from throat, but the feelings that come from the words. The genuinely of the Wise who speaks true to his actions is reflected in his speech.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the difference between a gold plated and wholly gold becomes evident as soon as it is held against fire. Similarly One cannot bluff for long in the name of GOD. The Truth will come out eventually, for you can run with a lie, but there is no way out of Truth. It will catch you."

It is said that "If you focus the rays of the sun through a lens, they can burn cotton or a piece of paper. But the scattered rays cannot do this act."
The concentrated mind is like a potent searchlight to discover the treasures of the soul and hence to attain the wisdom of our True Self. Thus concentration of mind on GOD is in a way a journey to become One with Him, to experience Him. The power of concentration is the only key to the treasure house of Knowledge of Supreme Self.
Illustrating with meaningful analogies he says, just like Fire manifests when One strikes the Flint against an Iron thus catching the spark produced by the friction on a piece of Cotton, the Divine presence is experienced when One concentrates his mind on the Name Worship of GOD absorbing himself intuitively in it.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, with a full belly, One experiences contentment for some time, but it is short lived. He says, seeking the state of everlasting contentment should be the ultimate objective to make this rare human birth fruitful.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, when water from different streams mix, they become One, for only in Duality, we witness this thing and that thing. However in reality an all pervading GOD Consciousness runs as the very soul of every little being, Similarly when One concentrates his mind on GOD, he becomes One with GOD, for in the stillness of mind One sees himself as he is, unbound."

"It is impossible for One to reach something within which he is not. In other words upon GOD Realisation the seeker realises that, all along, the One who wanted to realise was the same One he has been looking for, but he did not know it.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the seeker on his journey to Self Realisation. He says, among the innumerable species, only a human being possesses an opportunity to attain Liberation or to be free from unending cycle of deaths and rebirths. And hence  the seeker on the quest of his True Self strives to subsist rather than to flourish. Desiring only the  survival to pursue his true purpose, he shuts the mouth of desires forever whose wants are otherwise unlimited.
As the seeker delves deep within, the process of his Individual Consciousness to become One with Supreme Consciousness unfolds slowly but steadily. The ecstasy of this transformation instills the feeling that not he, but GOD is the Doer. A feeling of contentment the seeker experiences when he becomes free from the burden of Doership brings him near GOD to become One with Him. In other words the contentment springing from the feeling that everything happens by GOD's will itself suggests that GOD is around.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Self Realisation is about giving constant and conscious thought to a sense of discrimination, a unique trait only human beings possess, which helps them to remain on their path of Self Realisation steadfastly.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, as One becomes intuitively absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD, the grip of senses and their gratification starts loosening up and One experiences Godliness, or a sense of Becoming Supreme Self."
