"We have our senses to perceive the world, but behind all perception and thought is simply Pure Awareness itself which is Our Awareness of Awareness. Everything, living or inanimate, is an inseparable and indivisible part of Supreme Consciousness. It is only illusion, caused by mind and the play of the senses, which makes us regard the world and everything in it, as real and separate from us. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Oneness of Supreme Consciousness where all forms emerge out of it, remain sustained by it and ultimately merge back into it. He says, "I am the body" idea is a spell cast by Maya, the Divine Hypnosis which creates an illusion that our existence is separate from the Divine Essence, when it is not. This ignorance of our True Nature as Pure Consciousness begets false ego sense or a sense of Duality.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a fruit contains a seed and seed again bears a fruit, Maya is not separate or different from the Supreme Consciousness. It is but its inherent power which makes happen the mirage like phenomenal world of names and forms.
Illustrating with meaningful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Eternal Oneness of Supreme Consciousness which is the Self in individual beings. He says, just like in delicacies made from wheat, the delicacies resemble Maya and the wheat resembles the Eternal Truth of Supreme Consciousness, all beings are in the Self, and the Self is in all beings.
In another analogy he says, as all ornaments are expression of Gold, upon melting of the ornaments, the Gold still remains as Gold, nothing happens to it. Similarly the endless forms of One Supreme Consciousness are the expression of GOD, and they have no existence separate from Him.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the life giving Essence is only One, GOD the Supreme Indweller. He is subtler than the subtle, smaller than the smallest and also the most vast. His reflection is hidden in all, for the effects cannot remain away from their cause, for they are born of their cause, exist in their cause, and merge back to become One with their cause."
