"It is said that "Spiritual Awakening is a paradigm shift from Individual Consciousness to GOD Consciousness."
Before awakening life appears to be a series of coincidences that we have a hand in orchestrating. It appears as if life is something we can exert our will upon in order to influence. But waking up spiritually feels like waking up from a dream and suddenly realising that the dream experience which seemed to be so real was actually rooted in lies, distortion and illusion. It is simply a tipping point, where One is connected to higher self and higher consciousness and becomes aware.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about his state of being a Living Liberated Soul or ( जीवन्मुक्त). He says, he lives in the world, but is not of the world and revels in the Eternal Bliss of the Supreme Self. He says, Liberation is not an after death phenomenon. It is simply detaching from mundane consciousness.
The fear of death is due to "I am the body" idea. But a Living Liberated is not afraid of death because his state is beyond body consciousness. He knows that he is not the body and hence the death in the worldly sense has no effect on him.
All that happens in our present life is due to Prarabdha Karma, which is an effect of our actions in our past lives. We are born with it and it is beyond our capacity to do anything about it. Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, being Living Liberated he is aware that not he but only GOD controls his body through reins of Prarabdha. In other words, he dances to the tune of his Prarabdha and the words he speaks are nothing but what GOD speaks through him.
He says, his freedom from bondage of "I am the body" idea is in itself a freedom from the sense of sins and virtues, as both are reflections of body consciousness.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, to be dead while alive is not to jump off a cliff or fall down from a roof. It is simply to be aware of our True Essence which remains forever Eternal even after the worldly death of physical body."
