"One kind word can change the lives of millions of people and make people love each other."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, if One consciously spreads the Name Worship of GOD wherever he goes then surely no one will ever come to him without leaving happier. It's not about how much One does, but with how much love he puts into what he does that counts.
He says, there is no doubt that GOD takes care of the One who remains absorbed in His Name Worship with loving devotion.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed is the One who sings, hears or repeats GOD Name knowingly or unknowingly, for Grace of GOD descends on him regardless of whether he is pious or evil.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the knowledge of Truth through the Name Worship of GOD makes One mute and inert thus developing an intense dislike to the world of senses. In the heightened sense of awareness he experiences a sense of thrill in every fibre of his being, for GOD Realisation cannot be achieved without ecstatic love for Him."

"True Renunciation is losing our taste and affinity for the whole of wordly existence. GOD adores a devotee who feels a tangible sense of disgust when confronted with his misguided pursuit of worldly ends.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, by One's Prarabdha Karma, everything that happens in his present life is an echo of effect of his actions in his past lives. The only way is accepting it as it is and Blessed is the One who lives it as if it is a manifestation of GOD's Will, experiences true contentment from within.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, it is the Prarabdha by which  all beings are forced to act helplessly by their impulses and cannot refrain from doing something. And hence he implores the One suffering his Prarabdha not to worry about that which is beyond his control, for worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, so long as the notion of "I am the Doer" is firm in One's mind, he is bound by the good or bad results of his actions. He says, giving up all sense of "I" and "Mine" and leaving everything to GOD is the True Surrender, for it is the only way to halt the endless Karmic Cycle, a major hurdle on the journey of Self Realisation."

True happiness is not possible in the worldly living whose very foundation is "I am the body" idea which in itself is an illusion, That Which Is Not. And hence in this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj cautions us not to expect fulfilling bliss from our perishable bodies. He says, fate demands that we continue suffering, until we willingly seek out and start walking on the path of Self Realisation. Suffering is what GOD pours upon the Blessed to whom he would reveal Himself, His Wisdom, His Love.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Sage Markandeya who had a boon of very long life in his austere penance willfully suffered without being bothered by his body consciousness.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, life is full of sufferings and none are immune from the ravages of existence. The suffering is unbearable only if One is not certain that GOD is not for him and with him. He says, the suffering can refine us rather than destroy us only if GOD Himself walks with us in fire, for the best way for it to happen is remaining absorbed in the Name Worship of  GOD.

"Be still, quiet and patient. There is only you. How can there be a distance between you and you ?"
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the journey of Self Realisation is about cultivating awareness of what is going on in our bodies, in our feelings and in our minds, for when GOD finds One ready, he acts and overflows into him just as when the air is clear and pure, the sun overflows into it and cannot refrain from doing that.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, instead of delving deep in the study of Vedic Scriptures, let the mind be cultivated to be stock still, for when One resides in such stillness, GOD he is seeking will surely find him.
He says, nothing in all creation is so like GOD as stillness, for we don't have to go anywhere to obtain the Truth. We only need to be still and things will reveal themselves only in the still water of our heart. He says, all that moves exhausts itself eventually, only that which is still is Eternal.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, only when the mind is still, the Truth gets a chance to be heard in the purity of silence.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in Self Quest One must seek advice from only the Truly Wise, for only he recognises a diamond in rough, someone who needs smoothing."

"GOD is Self Luminous and is the ultimate reality which is Self Manifest. Therefore One should not think of it as this or that, for the very thought in itself will end in bondage."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we may ignore, but we can nowhere evade the presence of GOD. The world is crowded with Him. He walks everywhere incognito. He  says, GOD is before all things and in Him all things hold together.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we are unable to feel the Oneness of GOD in things because the three inherent qualities in all things Sattva, Raja and Tama  vary in their proportions. Nevertheless we do feel GOD's presence in all just like Humanity is experienced in all mankind, for GOD is love and love is the cause of unity in all things. In other words One can see GOD in all the diversity only when he strongly believes that "Yes, He Exists.", otherwise transcending duality will  remain confined to mere endless talk devoid of experience.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, only by being in the world but not of the world One can pursue his journey of Self Realisation in this rare human birth. He says, True Detachment isn't separation from life but the freedom within the mind to explore one's True Self.

" GOD, the Supreme Indweller, can be bound only by the rope of devotion and tethered to the post of tongue through the Holy Ram Nam. Since Name and the Named are no different, His Name Worship in itself becomes an embodiment of Divine Love. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the glory of Holy Ram Nam and says, the best way to seek GOD and envisage His Form is only through His Name Worship, for it is always auspicious.
He says, the Holy Ram Nam is easily accessible to all without distinction and can be easily said. It doesn't matter how One recites it, for repetitive recital of Holy Ram Nam will do the miracle regardless of whether it is done knowingly or unknowingly.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, reciting Holy Ram Nam can never be a prerogative of anyone particular, for whosoever recites it with  Supreme Devotion will bear its fruit in abundance.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Name Worship of GOD Ram is a journey from Duality to the Oneness. And hence One who remains absorbed in the Holy Ram Nam with the tongue of thought, is lead from Darkness to Light, from Untruth to Truth and from Death to Immortality."

In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the purest food is that which is consumed while remaining absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD. However eating food any other way is just like filling the leather bag used for carrying water while travelling.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, true contentment happens when One eats food with a profound gratefulness to GOD, and the finest way to do it is by His Name Worship. The true taste of food is revealed when One recites GOD Name Vitthal with every morsel.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a conscious effort not to waste even a moment without Name Worship of GOD makes this rare human birth worthwhile, for whatever is to be done for Liberation must be only "Here And Now."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, it is One's Prarabdha Karma that decides what he will do in his present life. It is inevitable and must be lived to exhaust it. However One can surely prevent the same story repeating again and again in his future births provided he does everything in his present birth assuming that not he but only GOD is the Doer, for it will surely halt the otherwise vicious Karmic Cycle.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the true purpose of this rare human birth is to attain Self Realisation. However under the spell of Maya, the Cosmic Illusion we forget it and instead chase material pursuits assuming them as real, without understanding that we are only pursuing That Which Is Not. He says, man comes in this world with a body, but death snatches from him even that privilege. And hence Blessed is the One who sees beyond the worldly gains and remains conscious of their falsity.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, worry is useless mulling over things we cannot change and ceaseless cycle of deaths and rebirths is one of them. He says, unless we make a conscious effort to free us from this bondage, our vulnerability of worldly life mocking us is inevitable.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Name Worship of GOD is available to anyone and everyone without discrimination, for it is the boat that transcends across the Ocean of Karma to the Supreme Abode, the Liberation."

"Without faith it is impossible to please GOD, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD has a pleasure in the kind of faith in which One comes to GOD believing that He is, for GOD wants to be the rewarder of his faith in Him.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like the quality of milk depends on the fodder the cow eats, it is the accumulation of good deeds in One's past lives that decides when he will attain GOD Realisation.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, if One does not find GOD, then it's because he searched Him in the pitch darkness of his ignorance. He says, GOD is available to anyone and everyone interested, for all One needs to do is look it up with sincere faith that, "Yes, He Exists."

And the most prudent way to do it is putting up with other people's shortcomings, for the One who cannot do it becomes unfit to walk on the path of his Self Quest or GOD Realisation. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, all beings have in them the three attributes of Sattva, Raja and Tama in varying proportions, but one thing is common and that is GOD, who indwells them all. Blessed is the One who sees the Eternal Essence that pervades all and not their individual mental makeups.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, for man to find fault with his fellow man is to find fault with GOD, the Ever Faultless. He says, courageous is the One who consciously refrains from fault finding, for the journey of Self Realisation is only for those who dare to change themselves."

"Only man is endowed with the ability to discern right from wrong and hence act wisely on the basis of this unique sense of discrimination. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj insists to awaken the sense of discrimination inherent in us and constantly identify with it, for only then we can live with awareness of what is ephemeral and what is eternal.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, everything in the illusory world consists of three Gunas or qualities Sattva, Raja and Tama and our body is no exception to it. The interplay of these qualities manifests as universe. He says, doing everything assuming GOD is the Doer is nothing but consciously cultivating the Sattva Guna by which we make choices in life that elevate awareness and foster unselfish joy.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, unless One discriminates between the Soul and worldly life or Truth and Falsehood, there is all possibility of wasting this rare human birth chasing material pursuits instead of seeking Liberation."

He implores his mind to remain absorbed in the Holy Ram Nam, for it is the only unperishable thing worth doing in this rare but ever fleeting human birth.
He says, Blessed is the One whose  mind remains absorbed in Holy Ram Nam even when he is unconscious.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj implores GOD to hear his humble prayer and reward him with His Grace which will be nothing but to remain absorbed in His Name Worship till last breath."

"A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the paramount importance of an intention formed by the heart and mind, a subtle desire springing from the core of One's being which is behind the activities of his mind. He says, it is through this power of determination that makes the contemplation effective so that One does't deviate from his highest goal, the Liberation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Self Realisation is possible only through the willful determination untouched by doubt. One must consciously cultivate an outlook to see the good in every situation, for there is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
He says, we reap what we sow. We are makers of our own fate. None else has the blame, none has the praise.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the way to Liberation is through the purity of mind and the heart. It is the purity of heart that liberates, not One's efforts to be free, for without purity of heart, there is no purity of thought."

"Life is not lost dying, but it is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the countless uncaring ways like not understanding the real purpose of this rare human birth, the Liberation. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj has elucidated a dialogue with his mind about not getting trapped by Maya, the Cosmic Illusion which compels us to accept that our perishable body has a lasting value when it is not true. He says, in the cacophony of worldly living, when One is caught unawares by death, the greatest predator, none can save him from the imminent end. All his dear Ones and even a King cannot do anything when death knocks on the door.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the universe and it's experience is born from the body and perish with the body. The body comes and goes, but the soul is Eternal. The death torments the One who identifies himself with "I am the body" idea. He says, clinging to the Name Worship of GOD is the only way out, for faith is as much a gift of GOD as is the saviour upon whom that faith relies."

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD lives in One's awareness of His existence. And hence instead of delving deep in Scriptures, One can easily find Him in Gokul tied with a rope, by those for whom not wealth, but His love is the real treasure.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Name Worship of GOD inculcates courage in the Sages to rise above body consciousness, for it is the only way to GOD Realisation. And hence One who does not waste even a moment without fondly remembering Him, always finds his path of Self Quest well illuminated.

"The aroma of sandalwood is so sublime that even the lowly trees growing in its vicinity emanate the Divine fragrance. So is the company of the True and the Wise which inculcate in the One a love for GOD. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the attributes of such True Association.
He says, even if One is required to do menial work, One must not let go an opportunity to be near the Spiritually Wise. Illustrating this with meaningful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed is the dog at the doorsteps of a Spiritual Luminary, for he will hear the Holy Ram Nam recited ceaselessly. Even a titbit of the discourses by the Spiritually Wise will not go in vain, for they surely enrich the One listening to them in some way. He says, staying in the vicinity of the Truly Wise like a handmaid surely helps, for a part of finding and accepting the Truth is letting go of the ego.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, happiness isn't about getting what One wants, but it's about loving what he has and being grateful for it. It's true realisation however happens in the company of the Spiritually Wise, who illuminates One's journey of Self Realisation in a meaningful way, making him aware that all that can be done for Liberation must be in this fleetiing and very rare human birth."

He says, a kind heart speaks kind words, and hence though the words of discourses are gentle and soft, they are rich in content and make an indelible mark on the mind of the listener, for they come out spontaneously from the experience.

"The perception of the existence of the 'Other' is the root cause of all sufferings. This perception is due to the consciousness of body and the mind. When this consciousness is transcended and absorbed in the Supreme Consciousness, One becomes Self Realised. Being One with GOD, all the Duality vanishes like a mist before the sun and Liberation is attained. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the world acclaims such a person Blessed with Grace of GOD. He says, though we often experience it happening, most are tempted to chase the illusion of Duality instead of seeking GOD's Grace.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Devotee Prahlad who was blessed with Grace of GOD was saved by GOD from  fire, weapons and poisoning and all such atrocities inflicted on him by his tyrant father.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Grace of GOD rewards the Blessed with Eternity, for he transcends Duality to attain freedom from the endless sufferings and secures the place in the memory of all generations to come, forever."

In thIs composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, life is a pilgrimage. Each moment is to be lived in depth, because each moment contains GOD, hidden within it. And hence it is most prudent to be in the company of the Blessed who do not waste even a single moment without Name Worship of GOD.

"Truth never gets old nor rusty."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj has described a devotee absorbed in the unceasing Name Worship of GOD Vitthal, the Eternal Truth.
He says, GOD Vitthal whom even the Scriptures couldn't describe, is visibly seen by his devotee permeating everywhere. He alone engages in constant recital of GOD Name Vitthal who is so destined.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, One who is absorbed in Name Worship of GOD Vitthal experiences Him in everything he does, for he lives in and feels His immanent presence. In tune with the Infinite, he finds solace in GOD Name Vitthal and hears within the unceasing Divine Melody.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, sleeping or awake, sitting or standing, the One Blessed with unceasing recital of GOD Name Vitthal remains ever at his post within. Reciting GOD Name Vitthal while eating, he eats food, for food is nothing but GOD's Love made edible.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed is the One for whom GOD Name Vitthal encompasses all three states of mind, the waking, the dreaming and the deep sleep.
He says, Blessed is the One, who is absorbed in GOD Name Vitthal and sees Vitthal even in the worldly possessions and pleasures, for he lives in the world but not of the world.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a Truly Blessed is the One whose life has become Vitthal, for wherever he goes and whatever he does, it is all a Worship of GOD Vitthal. Transcending the realm of duality, he enjoys the Eternal Bliss forever."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about practicing Name Worship of GOD while performing our daily chores. He says, GOD and His Name are One and the same. And hence fondly reciting Name of GOD is nothing but His instant nearness.
Exemplifying this experience Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD stands guard by the side of a devotee who fondly remembers His Name even in deep slumber. When One meditates on GOD's Name while sitting, GOD sways with Eternal joy, reciprocating to his true feelings.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, One who recites Name of GOD while standing, experiences the Supreme Lord Govind dancing all around him. He says, the Supreme Saviour walks with the One absorbed in His Name Worship and takes care of him.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, reciting Name of GOD incessantly is paramount. It doesn't matter how it is done. The echo of Name Worship of GOD is all pervading and all embracing like Him.
He says, it is irresistible for GOD to be away from the place which resonates with His name, for He attends to all who call Him with true feelings from bottom of their heart."

In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, One must be careful of the company he keeps.
Illustrating with meaningful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, happiness is a far off thing for the One whose mother is a snake and father a tomcat, for the snake eats live eggs and the tomcat eats kittens.
He says, when One is killed with a spear made of sandalwood, he will surely die, for there will be no comfort by the coolness which the sandalwood imparts otherwise.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, chained feet will always speak of bondage even if the chains are made of pure gold.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, no one will enter paradise in whose heart is a mustard-seed of arrogance."

"He is born in vain, who having attained the human birth, so difficult to get, does not attempt to realise GOD in this very life."
Man is the only being endowed with the ability to discern right from wrong. This subtle sense of discrimination helps him to know the difference between eternal and ephemeral as well as how important is this rare human birth to attain freedom from repeated sufferings.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, it is the Discriminating Intellect that helps a human being  raise his consciousness to the highest level of GOD Consciousness. And the best way to do it is through  the Name Worship of GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, no human can assuredly say that his next will also be a human birth. And hence One must make most of his precious human birth with a sense of urgency, so not a moment is wasted without the Name Worship of GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, every moment of life, our actions create a certain memory. It is Karma. However performing every action assuming that only GOD is the Doer frees us from the Doership and it is the only way to evade the vicious cycle of Karma, which otherwise is inevitable. He says, if One chooses to do nothing, his next birth could be of an owl or of a pig, where more than survival there is nothing."

"All living beings aspire to attain the rare human birth, even GODS are no exception to it.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, every being is born on earth with obligations, with the purpose to repay these debts. Of these only humans with their exclusive sense of discrimination understand that getting rid of these obligations is not the only purpose of this precious opportunity, for only here One can strive for Liberation.
He says, when wrath of curse falls on GODS, they prefer to incarnate on earth in human form so that  not only they can become free from their obligations but they can strive for Liberation as well, by which they can regain back to their heavenly abode.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, this precious human birth is not an end by itself, but very significant means to the end. He says, this rare human birth is a unique opportunity to keep our appointment with GOD, and Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, he aspires for not being late."

"It is said that "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, practicing devotion needs to become a habit, for only then One can become a seeker on his Self Quest.
Illustrating this with meaningful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, only by sheer practice One can handle Bachnag, a very poisonous root of a plant, for many fear even looking at it.
He says, a very venomous snake which otherwise sends tremors in those watching it, is handled skillfully by the One who practices snake handling for a long time.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Name Worship of GOD needs to be practiced consciously throughout life, for a persistent practice is the key to unlock the door to Liberation. He says, the journey to Infinite GOD will be a journey of Infinite lifetimes, each made fruitful by Name Worship of GOD, for little drops of water make a mighty ocean."
