"The aroma of sandalwood is so sublime that even the lowly trees growing in its vicinity emanate the Divine fragrance. So is the company of the True and the Wise which inculcate in the One a love for GOD. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the attributes of such True Association.
He says, even if One is required to do menial work, One must not let go an opportunity to be near the Spiritually Wise. Illustrating this with meaningful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed is the dog at the doorsteps of a Spiritual Luminary, for he will hear the Holy Ram Nam recited ceaselessly. Even a titbit of the discourses by the Spiritually Wise will not go in vain, for they surely enrich the One listening to them in some way. He says, staying in the vicinity of the Truly Wise like a handmaid surely helps, for a part of finding and accepting the Truth is letting go of the ego.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, happiness isn't about getting what One wants, but it's about loving what he has and being grateful for it. It's true realisation however happens in the company of the Spiritually Wise, who illuminates One's journey of Self Realisation in a meaningful way, making him aware that all that can be done for Liberation must be in this fleetiing and very rare human birth."
