"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, One who remains ever absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD is saved from the otherwise inevitable repeated sufferings, for 'Hari Naam' is the very essence of all that was, is and will be.

He says, while GOD Shiva meditates the Holy RamNam, this best among the most auspicious transformed a dacoit into an Enlightened Sage Valmiki.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, meditate the Feet of GOD Vithoba through His Name Worship and you will leave the path of death far behind."

He says, GOD is not far from where the GODLY dwells, for just like the molten metal poured in the mould takes the shape of the mould, the senses unanimously singing 'Hari Naam" have become He, for the metal is ready for the Maker's Hand."

He says, being deranged is better than those who make their own interpretation of Scriptures, GOD and the Wise.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, talking words of wisdom without substance is like living in squalor, for One who is habitual of tasting the filth knows not the divine sweetness of nectar."

And therefore he says, One must consciously integrate the physical, mental and spiritual aspects naturally, without any extremes, for what could be better way to do it than following the footsteps of the Wise."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the unkind who mercilessly slaughter animals for earning their livelihood, for in their ignorance they forget that they are borrowing misery. Illustrating this paradox with a beaitiful analogy he says, a woman aspiring a child offers a beast of sacrifice to GOD, assuming His presence in a stone idol, for the great paradox is that while she assumes the Divine presence in merely a stone, she is ruthless to kill a living being for her personal gain.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, happiness is a stranger for those who snatch it from others for their own good, for One reaps what he sows."

He says, in the beginning was the Word and theWord was with GOD, and the Word was GOD. the same was in the beginning with GOD. All things were made by Him  In Him is life.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, it is His Name Worship that makes happen the GOD Realisation, the crowning fruition of all endeavors."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the futility of talking the talk but not walking the walk, for it is like the One who do not act in a way that agrees with the things he says. In other words only when One gives enough time for his understanding to sink in, his words make an impact.

He says, just like an untimely plucking of fruit before it ripens leaves it raw, the food eaten invigorates not if the mouthful is spewed out before it gets digested. In another analogy he says, cooking must be given enough time so that not a grain of it remains uncooked.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the devotion without the deep seated longing is as wearying as the illness getting aggravated due to the medication not being given enough time to sink in and do its wonder."

Illustrating this with beautiful analogies he says, it is as vainly as bejewelling a crow with the necklace of pearls or as futile as trying to convince a Heron to stay refrained from its instinctive predatory nature.

He says, no matter how irresistible is the aroma of musk otherwise, it makes no difference to an elephant when it is rubbed on him.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like teaching a pig to sing wastes time and instead annoys the pig, so is delivering a spiritual discourse  to the One who performs rituals meticulously but has no emotional resolve in what he is doing."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, futile is to waste this rare human birth chasing frivolous material pursuits, for the worldly riches become no more than dust as soon as One succumbs to death. The root cause of sufferings is our attachment to the material wealth which corrupts our process of reasoning.

He says, no matter how much One tries to keep the sufferings at bay, there is no way out, for the debts from the past lives can be exhausted only by being experienced. These are the circumstances which we are destined to experience in our present lifetime due to some of our actions in our past lives, just like an arrow shot by the Archer over which he has no control as soon as it has left his hands.

Nevertheless One thing is sure he says, that whatever situation we are in, GOD has put us there for a reason, for a lesson, and most importantly for a purpose, for we may never understand His Wisdom but we simply have to trust His Will.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, while no material riches can accompany a dying man after his last breath, the self effort on the journey of GOD Realisation do not go in vain, for these eternal riches accompany One even after his death."

He says, my resolution for Your Longing O'GOD is like the One Pointedness of an arrow shot from the bow, for as soon as it leaves for its target, there is no way back.

He earnestly implores the dark complexioned Divine having four arms, in whose contemplation his mind remains preoccupied all the time, to shelter his longing, for  only GOD Krishna can save it from getting shattered by trials of life."

O'GOD he says, bless me to make an offering of myself at Your Feet and wherever I put my head, let me find myself at Your Feet.

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Spiritual Awareness is not a commodity traded in a market place and neither One can get it roaming jungles or taking refuge in caves. Money can do a lot of things but it has no power in the spiritual realm just like money can at the most buy a 'good time', but it doesn't buy 'time'.

He says, One cannot attain Spiritual Wisdom by visiting a particular place, for GOD Realisation is a journey within, from 'Otherness' to merging with the 'Eternal Oneness'.

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the quieter One becomes, the more he can hear, for the Truly Wise speak loudly in Silence."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj finds it baffling and very puzzling when he sees people accepting the ignorance by choice, for its not that they are not aware of their predicament, but they lack the courage to do the needful 'Here and Now' in this fleeting and rare human birth before it is too late.

Illustrating with beautiful analogy he says, just like a Fish lured by the bait at the end of fishing rod is unaware of the ambush by the hook, man gets trapped in the web of desires woven by himself.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the rare human birth bestowed upon us is an opportunity to rebel against the wrong or ignorance. Though Karma or Action is inevitable, it is also true that our every thought and action shape our future experiences. And therefore he says, instead of fatalism or grieving over inevitability, let's sow the Truth to reap the Wisdom, for man's self effort and the Grace of GOD go hand in hand."

He says, just like man becomes what he thinks of most of the time, GOD Realisation happens only to those who contemplate Him all the time immersed in the True Longing.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, there is no substitute to devotion for GOD Realisation, for an unconditional devotion by itself is capable of taking the sincere seeker all the way to GOD."

In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj elucidates the thought 'Living in the world, but not of the world.' He talks about not the renunciation of action but renunciation in action with the spirit of detachment and not wandering around wearing saffron robes or self inflicted pain of austerity like sleeping on floor.

He says, the True Renunciation has nothing to do with abandoning the duties of our everyday life and becoming a recluse to lead a monastic life but consciously renouncing ' I did this and I did that'.

He says, the True Renunciation is neiher selective renouncing of things under the command of worldly prudence nor cowardly way of opting out of a problem of responsibility the easier way. It is not what we have or don't have, but in essence an understanding that 'Nothing is Mine.'

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD Realisation is no less than becoming like Him, the sublime essence that encompasses smaller than the smallest and larger than the largest."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, though all the gold in the world cannot buy a dying man one more breath, yet he forgets not of making a will of how he wants to distribute his wealth among his loved ones. He is unable to let go of attachment to his material possessions despite knowing that there is no way back from the place to which he will be soon departing to, for good. Shameless is the dying man who clings to worldly attachments even on the verge of his death but is reluctant to chant the Holy RamNam, the true panacea of all the sufferings.

He says, the ignorant of the ignorance holds on to anger, resentment and thoughts of revenge even at the brink of death, aware that soon after he will be left only as a memory.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, wake up O'Man from the slumber of ignorance and do the Name Worship of GOD as much possible, for your loved ones can accompany you at the most up to the crematorium but on the funeral pyre you will be all alone."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, I prostrate before You O'GOD, for the total surrender is like churned out butter bereft of impurities.

He says, waste not the moment of this rare human birth blabbering, but make haste, for learning to fall at His Feet is the fruition of all endeavors.

Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, lift me up out of ignorance O'GOD and heal my perception that I might know the only Reality that is You."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, no matter what spectacle we make of His Worship, GOD adores the One who takes shelter at His Feet or in other words the One who seeks Him with One Pointed Devotion.
He says, beware of the mind conditioned by ritualistic paraphernalia, for it  sways the mind away from GOD.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD yearns for those who yearn to becoming His and  His alone."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in the world congested with habitation it is impossible for me to find Your Source O'GOD, for though You are everywhere, You do not manifest often.

O'GOD he says, in deep slumber You are not and neither You are awake. Famished You are not and neither You are contented, for You connect only with the Longing from within."
