"This composition of Sant Tukaram Maharaj is about letting GOD carry things that weigh us down, for GOD has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand His Wisdom, but we simply have to trust His Will.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like the responsibility for his deed weighs on the doer, pray and let GOD worry, for we are all children of GOD, onus is His.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Supreme Enjoyer GOD enjoys everything through us. He says, Cast your worries onto Him, unburden youself onto Him, for in the end everything that matters is how much we believe in His promise. He says, wouldn't it be nice if we believe in His Word, for it isn't that He will keep bad things from happening, it's that He will be there if they do."

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, insult is a boon on the journey of Self Realisation as it undermines "I am the body" idea, the root cause of all sufferings."

"What you wish and long for with all your heart, that is yours. If you ask for Me, I am yours."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD Krishna at far off port of Dwarka manifests as GOD Vithoba in Pandharpur. In other words, GOD Realisation which seems to be farfetched remains not so when One sees GOD Vithoba standing arms akimbo on a brick in His Abode Pandharpur.
He says, One must make a conscious effort to taste the sweet elixir of RamNam again and again, for the Beloved Himself hears His own prayer.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the root of all worry is in "I-ness".The One who turns his face to GOD Vithoba and becomes entirely His, doesn't  need to worry about his progress on path, for it is like a wise gardener who sows seeds, has faith in their growth and doesn't dig everyday to observe their growth.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the notion "GOD is the real Doer" unfolds only those Karma which are conducive to GOD Realisation, for such Blessed devotee doesn't have to wait for GOD, but GOD awaits him."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, let us lift our voices in one accord and rhythmically sing the Name of GOD, for it will work its wonder regardless of whether One does it knowingly or unknowingly. He says, the Name Worship of GOD doesn't happen by luck or chance, it is but the manifestation of His Love to which GOD Panduranga reciprocates in multifold.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed are those who sing and dance in the devotional ecstasy bestowed by Name Worship of GOD, than the unfortunates who wander aimlessly in the dense forest of sense gratification, where anger and lust hiss like venomous serpents and pretensions drag like the bed of thorns.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, seeing the GOD Panduraga in Form, with hands akimbo standing on brick in Great Pilgrimage Pandhrapur, is something to which even Gods in heaven are not privy to, but it becomes simple for the One absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD, for Name and Named are no different."

"To the seeker on Self Quest Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, past countless births to be born as a human being is no lesser privilege, for it is only here that One can strive for GOD Realisation.
He says, hard is to be born as a human being, hard it is to live like one and rare is the birth of Awakened who does not let go this opportunity of many lifetimes.
He says, this rare human birth has a privilege to see the glory of Supreme Bliss unfolding in the form of GOD Vitthal who stands hand akimbo on a brick in Pandharpur, the seat of Divine.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, he dances with devotional ecstasy remaining absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD Vitthal, for the True Happiness he experiences is that which even Gods envy, so rare is the privilege to get this rare human birth."

The Self Realised Soul who counters impure impressions by cultivating pure impressions becomes One with GOD Panduranga, for he feels neither sorrow nor elation, whatever may be the circumstances, having transcended the realm of duality forever.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Self Quest is about making willful effort to remove the "I am the body" impression from the subconscious mind, the root cause of all sufferings."

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD is neither gross nor subtle, being Smallest of the small, and Biggest of the big, the Biggest in the Smallest is GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Supreme Reality is neither Nirguna, without attributes, nor Saguna, with attributes, for the only way to comprehend GOD Vitthal who is "Not This"  "Not This" is through man's expression of his  heartfelt longing from deep within."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Vivek or Sense of Discrimination and Vairagya or Dispassion, for without Discernment, the Dispassion is not possible.
One may engage in action which may seem to be very spontaneous and virtuous, but the praise he gets for it may inflate his ego. And hence Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Vairagya or Dispassion has to be supported by vigilance and alertness, for the True Dispassion raises the enjoyer above the transitory means of enjoyment.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Dispassion does not mean hatred or contempt for the body or world, but only equanimity by giving them their right place.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a free flowing water of stream takes away the sense of scarcity, so should be the affectionate detachment of a mind open to everything but attached to nothing, for whenever everything is in abundance, Dispassion happens. And when Dispassion is there, everything comes in abundance."

"O' Mind, says Sant Tukaram Maharaj, let you be blessed with intense yearning to meet Him and restlessness without Him, for GOD yearns for the One who yearns for Him.
O' Mind, He says, beware of Desire, the pursuit that allures, for One achieves nothing from it in the end, but a Mirage.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Truly Blessed, who expects nothing for himself but GOD's Grace, is looked after by GOD, for True Love of GOD is not what He gives, but for Himself.
O' Mind, he says, the vicious circle of sorrow and pleasure is the root cause of repeated sufferings, for the True Renunciation is about regarding the body and world as GOD's and not a bit of it as One's own.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the true purpose of this rare human birth is to attain the Eternal Life, the death of death, for Blessed are those who are not attached to the body and who have realised the mystery of GOD Realisation."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, perplexed he is about the very Essence of GOD Realisation, for our limited speech cannot describe Him, and our limited faculty of seeing cannot behold Him. And hence to witness the glory of transcendent GOD with his earthly vision, he implores GOD to make his faith a sight of Him, to feel the Divine presence all around him.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, since time immemorial the Scriptures have propounded that we can understand GOD in part, but we can never fully comprehend Him, who is everywhere from way below netherworld to the way above heavens, for GOD indwells in the heartful prayer of the One who has unwavering faith that , 'Yes, He is'.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed by GOD Virhoba, who stands hands akimbo on a brick in Padharpur, the Abode of Supreme Bliss, is the One who says, "GOD has called me into this life, He will never abandon me, He will be forever on my side, for believing in Him, no one is lost."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, so long as there is desire to be something there must be fear. He says, my wanting to be something and my not being that something creates fear. In other words as long as there is sense of identifying ourselves with the body, fear is inevitable.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, there is no desire which doesn't have its roots in man's body consciousness. A desireless soul  is not afraid of death, but awaits it as a passenger awaiting the train when signal is down.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Truly Blessed  remains absorbed in the Divine Name and enjoys tranquility from within, for not even a ripple of a wave of desire or fear can disturb his peace of mind.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, most of us pin our faith in GOD only to fulfill our earthly desires. But all that we possess or enjoy is a gift of GOD, the Supreme Giver, who gives us in so unknowable a manner, so generously and so selflessly, for He alone knows how to give without a thought of return."

"This composition of Sant Tukaram Maharaj is his musing about the tug of war between what he is ought to do on his Self Quest and what his mind compells him to do.
He says, just like a fish swallows the hook of fishing rod in the lure of bait but is unable to disengage from it again, he is unable to detach his wandering mind from the clutches of Maya on his own.
He says, the propensity of mind is towards duality or two-ness which makes us understand the world and to make sense of it. But to turn it inward for the journey within is not possible without the Grace of God, for with it even a broken tree can bear fruit.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, seeking GOD with True Faith and Absolute Trust is the only way One can wean the mind away from its inherent nature of objectivity and externality and propel it towards the Divine."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, 'Chit' means to perceive or to be conscious or to be aware and 'Chitta' is the subconscious mind, the reservoir of all impressions or seat of feeling, thinking and willing. He says, if whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality, then it is no wonder that the subconscious mind sublimated by Self-less actions and unmotivated and unimpeded devotion to GOD knows what is good for it, for it is on the right path on the journey of Self Realisation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, faith is like gold tested in fire. Just like a gold put in fire comes out as more pure, the genuineness of faith put into practice needs no trumpets.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a conscious effort to have thoughts and impressions conducive to our Self Quest will not go in vain, for what we will sow, so shall we reap."

He says, the Name Worship of GOD doesn't give One a free hand to behave in excessive and unacceptable behaviour, but it saves him from wrongdoings if he remains absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in the day to day life, we may not be able to control every situation and its outcome, but what is in our hands is our perspective of looking at things, and what better way to cultivate a healthy perspective than remaining absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD, for it makes us live in the world but not of the world, thus making the probability of wrongdoings least

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Pravrutti and Nivrutti, the two ways in which life can unfold, for it is entirely up to us to decide which of these we will take.
He says, Pravrutti is a path of extroversion or giving attention to things other than yourself, adhering to the thought that every event has a plausible chain of causality (Cause and Effect relationship) that leads to it. While Nivrutti is pursuing a journey within towards spiritual contemplation, ultimately to return to the source, our True Self.
Being a strong proponent of Nivrutti, he says, it is the path of renunciation, difficult like swimming against the current, for only dead fish swim with the stream.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in this journey from falsehood to the Eternal Truth, the footsteps of the Wise who have transcended the ocean of sufferings is the beacon, so that there is no fear of getting lost.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed are those who dare to walk on the journey within with unwavering perseverance and unshakable will, for GOD Realisation is for the brave."

And hence he says, One must make a conscious effort to live the True Renunciation, for it is the Wisdom to transcend the ocean of sufferings forever.

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the true purpose of this rare human birth is the quest of our True Self which is possible only when we will become free from the burden of "I am the body" idea. This burden is like a debt which One must repay to become free from the obligation of endless cycle of deaths and rebirths.
He implores GOD Narayan to reckon for his becoming GOD's humble servant to be free of this debt.
O' GOD Narayan, he says, please absolve me of all my wrong doings through your blessings, for I have transcended "I am the body" idea and become One with You.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, if "I am the body" idea is the debt, then "I am the Doer" idea is the interest on it, which has accumulated in the Sanchit Karma since time immemorial and hence unless One consciously replaces "I am the Doer" idea with "Only GOD is the Doer" idea, there is no way to halt the constant refilling of Sanchit Karma basket and hence end his repeated sufferings.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, "I am the body" idea is transcended only when the body becomes home for GOD only, the Supreme Indweller."

He says, the Self Realised Soul having realised that in the ocean of world, Only One Was, Is and Will Be, sees GOD everywhere in all beings and bows to them with reverence. He knows no miseries in the world, for the whole universe is filled by him alone.
The Truly Awakened is the One who speaks ill of no one and praises no one and expends his rare human birth for the betterment of mankind by becoming pathfinder for the seekers on their Self Quest.
The Great Souled One realises that just like waves, foam, bubbles are no different from water, so is this universe which emanates from the Supreme Self to merge back in Him again.

He says, the root cause of endless cycle of deaths and rebirths is the ignorance which makes man identify his True Self with the ego and forget the Truth that "I am no one."
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, pretension may help One to fool the world of his true intentions, but nothing remains hidden from GOD who sees through everything.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the journey of Self Realisation is about filling the empty places in our hearts by GOD alone, for the thirst of our souls can be quenched only by Him, the All Pervading Etetnal Oneness."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about what the Seeker of Self Quest must do and must not on his journey of Self Realisation.
He says, while Kindness is a greatest virtue of all, the actions which bring about unfavourable and morally incorrect consequences are entirely unpardonable.
The morally right way of living calls on us to see what is really true and to step out of delusion.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, while the Name Worship of GOD leads One to GOD Realisation, the ignorance drowns him in the abyss of hell.
He says, while the company of True and Spiritually Wise is the most sublime, there is no end to the sufferings of One who shuns himself from their wisdom.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, at any point we can change direction of our lives by a simple choice. It is all in our hands, our hearts and our minds. We become what we choose to be."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like happiness rarely keeps company with an empty stomach, GOD Realisation is not possible unless One guards against the phantom of worry and becomes fearless.
O' GOD Vitthal, says Sant Tukaram Maharaj, Bless me with the mouthful and ever refreshing water of Your Name Worship, for the Supreme Bliss emanating from it will make me forget of "I am the body" idea and I will dance with joy of ecstasy.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, his incessant urging will cease when GOD Vitthal will Bless him of His Name Worship incessantly."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the illusion of duality is transcended and the seeker becomes One with the Truth within when he yearns and remains absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD Govinda.
He says, being overwhelmed with joy, the devotee experiences ecstatic love with tears in his eyes, for tears are the prayers that travel to GOD when he cannot speak.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like an ugly, crawling caterpillar goes through a metamorphosis to fly as a beautiful butterfly, the few fortunate go through metamorphosis to become Self Realised Souls. He says, just like the journey is not complete till a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, the journey of rare human birth is not complete till One strives for GOD Realisation, to become One with Him."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like food touched by a housefly becomes uneatable, futile is reciting the Holy Ram Nam without subduing the senses, for it is nothing but practicing virtue with hypocrisy.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Musical form of narrating the story of GOD is no different from the well orchestrated rendition unless the narrator hears his own words and acts accordingly, walking his talk.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Truly Spiritually Wise remains untouched of anger, the manifestation of the false ego sense, for he has transcended the duality forever."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about how a (मुमुक्षु) or Seeker of Liberation should pursue his journey of Self Realisation. He says, when One realises that what he is seeking is a solution to his incompleteness, he becomes a मुमुक्षू or Seeker of Freedom. And hence the seeker must adhere to what the Scriptures and the Spiritually Wise are propounding since time immemorial about GOD Realisation, and consciously avoid the forbidden actions (विकर्म) which are condemned in the Scriptures, for they destroy the peace and poise in the One performing them, thus deviating him from his Self Quest.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the seeker must consciously avoid standing in the way of evildoers even for a moment and ignore their mean talking as if it is barking of a dog.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Forgiveness is the key to peace and true happiness, for only when the Seeker of Self Quest let go of what he is, he can become what he aspires to be, the Self Realised Soul."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, his tongue has become habitual of uttering the Holy Ram Nam ceaselessly. His involuntary utterance of Ram Nam even in deep slumber has its roots in his reasonless love for GOD with all his heart.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed is he, who experiences constant repetition of the Holy Ram Nam without he being conscious of it.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, he cannot stop his tongue from reciting the Holy Ram Nam incessantly, for the Name Worship of GOD has become his spontaneous state of being, Truly a Grace of GOD."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we are all offsprings of GOD, the Supreme Creator.
He says, so long as One is the Doer, he has to bear its reactions, and there is no end to it because One cannot live without doing any Karma or Action. But if GOD is the Doer, then there is no "I-hood" left so that One doesn't have to bear its fruit, thereby stopping the incessant refilling of Sanchit Karma, for the Liberation happens when basket of Sanchit Karma will become empty.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a tree should be watered at its roots and not at its branches or leaves, GOD Realisation needs the focus to be shifted from "I" to "He", for GOD is the Doer of all and we are mere puppets in His hands."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, of the innumerable species, the rare human birth is the only opportunity for One to seek GOD Realisation. In other words the precious human birth is a boon for the One who wants to seek the devotion of GOD Vitthal and worship Him by His Name. He says, just like a Lotus flower blooms most beautifully from the deepest and thickest mud, yet remains unsoiled by it, the crowning fruition of precious human birth is when One lives in the world but not of the world, untouched of ignorance and misconception of phenomenal world.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed and virtuous is the One who remain absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD Vithoba, for he remains in the hearts of the generations forever."
