"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Vivek or Sense of Discrimination and Vairagya or Dispassion, for without Discernment, the Dispassion is not possible.
One may engage in action which may seem to be very spontaneous and virtuous, but the praise he gets for it may inflate his ego. And hence Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Vairagya or Dispassion has to be supported by vigilance and alertness, for the True Dispassion raises the enjoyer above the transitory means of enjoyment.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Dispassion does not mean hatred or contempt for the body or world, but only equanimity by giving them their right place.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a free flowing water of stream takes away the sense of scarcity, so should be the affectionate detachment of a mind open to everything but attached to nothing, for whenever everything is in abundance, Dispassion happens. And when Dispassion is there, everything comes in abundance."
