"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Pravrutti and Nivrutti, the two ways in which life can unfold, for it is entirely up to us to decide which of these we will take.
He says, Pravrutti is a path of extroversion or giving attention to things other than yourself, adhering to the thought that every event has a plausible chain of causality (Cause and Effect relationship) that leads to it. While Nivrutti is pursuing a journey within towards spiritual contemplation, ultimately to return to the source, our True Self.
Being a strong proponent of Nivrutti, he says, it is the path of renunciation, difficult like swimming against the current, for only dead fish swim with the stream.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, in this journey from falsehood to the Eternal Truth, the footsteps of the Wise who have transcended the ocean of sufferings is the beacon, so that there is no fear of getting lost.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed are those who dare to walk on the journey within with unwavering perseverance and unshakable will, for GOD Realisation is for the brave."
