"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Blessed are those who remain absorbed in contemplation of GOD, for only He can lift One from fatigue of despair to the buoyancy of hope and transform dark and desolate valleys into sunlit paths of inner peace.
Exemplifying this Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD Krishna was fondly remembered by Pandavas during their long exile in forest.
The devotee Pralhad pursued loving worship of GOD Vishnu despite being subjected to trials and extreme hardships by his tyrant father.
Sudama lived frugally but remained absorbed in contemplation of GOD Paduranga all the time.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, he aspires to be in contemplation of GOD irrespective of circumstances, for behind every trial and sorrow that He makes us shoulder, GOD has a reason."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we must trust GOD irrespective of our situation, walking by our faith, for Faith honours GOD and GOD honours Faith. Nothing is impossible for Him, for only He can reduce a mountain to a mustard seed or make Pauper a King.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj illustrates with beautiful analogies how the Blessed few remained unblemished despite their inconsistencies and attained Liberation. He says, the celibacy of GOD Shrikrishna towards the sixteen thousand women he had married to save them from the captivity of tyrant Narakasur seems to be as perplexing as the Great Sage Durvasa who remained famished despite having consumed fifteen thousand kilograms of food.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, if virtuous wife is the One who is devoted and faithful to her husband then what becomes of Draupadi who was wife of Pandavas?
It is ironic that King Dasharath who was cursed for killing the blind and disabled parents of Shravan Kumar on their way to pilgrimage was father of Supreme Lord ShriRam.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Dharmaraj Yudhisthir, remained the most virtuous and attained Liberation despite being responsible for the deaths of his family members  and millions on the battlefield of the Epic War of Mahabharat.
So are the deeds of Narada, the Great Sage whose wise but  mischievous suggestions often instigated fights  leading to many losing their lives.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, if none of these inconsistencies came in the way of their emancipation by Grace of GOD, then his faults are much trivial as compared to them, and hence he sees a fair chance to aspire for GOD Realisation, for only GOD can turn something that is ominously doomed to the most auspicious.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we pray the prayer of faith, we believe GOD will do it and then we leave it in His hands because His timing is always perfect. All we have to do it wait patiently, for absolute trust in GOD's hands opens a door to miracles."

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a Paras stone transmutes metal into gold but an ordinary metal does not have this privilege. Similarly One must leave the pathfinding to the Spiritually Wise, for he knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way to Self Realisation."

"This composition of Sant Tukaram Maharaj is about his efforts to keep at bay the sense of Two-ness which is so detrimental on his journey of Self Realisation.
He says, he chants GOD's Name with every morsel of food and remains consciously alert for not letting  the sense of Two-ness peep in.
He is beware of praise which in essence is a comparison or Two-ness, for it inflates One's false ego sense. And hence he keeps consciously away from all that which separates him from his True Self.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, neither he sees the world nor the world sees him because he has absorbed himself in the Name Worship of God, for the Name and the Named being the same, it is transcending the duality to become One with the Supreme Unmanifest."

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, keeping faith in the discourses of the Wise, One needs to consciously seize his quivering mind, drag it from its wanderings and still it on the Name Worship of GOD, for doing it again and again it will get hold of the mind and reflect upon the glory of GOD.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the man on his Self Quest needs nothing else if he believes in the words of the Wise from deep within."

"The material world we live in is very real, but like the mirrors in the house of mirrors, our senses distort our perceptions and we tend to take our distorted perceptions as reality or assume the "I am the body" idea as the Truth, when it is not.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj illustrates this Illusion or "That Which Is Not" with beautiful analogies. He says, it is as unreal as making home a city in clouds born of One's imaginary creation or as illusory as worshipping GOD by offering Him sky as a flower without stringing it in thread or as untrue as attending the wedding of a barren woman's son or as futile as calming the indignant crowd by offering them the waters of a mirage.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, "I am the body" idea is the sense of doership which gives rise to false ego sense. He says, shifting the Doership to GOD is merging the duality of "I-ness" in the ocean of Oneness, for becoming One with the All Pervading and Eternal is the crowning fruition of all endeavors."

"Everyone seeks happiness and often we search for it in all the wrong places or ways, when the answer is much simpler, GOD, for True Happiness comes from GOD. And hence in this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the more we let GOD take us over, the more we become True to our Self.
He says, the sense of our existence separate from GOD is Maya, the root cause of all our sufferings because what we deem it to be, it is not. The endless sufferings which ensue due to this ignorance can cease if One consciously absorbs himself in the Name Worship of GOD, for proximity of Divine is the sure way to transcend the illusion of duality forever.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just as man becomes what he thinks about, One who thinks of only GOD all the time becomes One, for Blessed is the Self Realised Soul who remains forever in the memory of generations for his benevolence to mankind. "

"Hamama is a kind of sport. Analogizing it with the mundane existence of living for the sake of living, in the ignorance of the true purpose of the rare human birth, Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, since the time immemorial, the seeker of Self Quest has become a victim to the game of deception played by his "I am the body" idea, for this ignorance became the root cause of his repeated sufferings.
To elucidate this he exemplifies with the four stages in the journey of life.
The first stage is of an unborn child.  He says, in the womb of mother, the soul is aware of its Oneness with GOD and pulsates with the Soham Soham Sound or  "I am He", " I am He". But it forgets everything as soon as birth takes place, for then it is in the firm grip of Maya, the Mistress of Illusion.
He says, then comes the stage of Childhood, full of  innocence and unadulterated happiness, because the child doesn't know rejection, hasn't seen denial and knows no boundaries. He says, though innocence is truly a Grace of GOD, the childhood is a short season.
He says, the third stage is of Youth when the false ego sense grows as One becomes conscious of his looks and his body becomes object of his dreams. Unless One makes a conscious effort, there is no way out from the vicious circle of sense gratification.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the fourth and last stage is of Old Age  when One starts feeling unsure of himself, for it is just a matter of time for the worn out body to crumble and fall prey to death.
Realising the futility of living with this aimless pursuit, he wishes to cease playing this Hamama. He says, if senses are cattles, he wishes to take them for grazing in a lush green pasture in the company of GOD Vithoba. In other words he aspires to follow the path of renunciation from worldliness and let his senses dwell in the Name Worship of GOD Vithoba, to be in the world but not of the world."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the Holy Ram Nam, a Word, being an Eternal connection  between GOD and man.
Word, the characteristic of Akash or Ether, the subtlest of the five basic elements. The Ether is One, Eternal and All Pervading from which appeared Air, from that Fire, from which Water and then the Earth. In the matrix of creation, Word is the place of beginning for all that exists and evolves. It is great sea in which we all appear as waves, to merge back again into the source. The very essence of Word is Pure Consciousness, which manifests as the Holy Ram Nam. Both the creation and the dissolution are from Word, and Word again is the cause of recreation.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Word dwells in the folds of our minds, but like a deer with musk hidden in its navel, we search for it outside all our life."

"We come in this world with empty hands and one day we will all die in the same way. No mattter how much power we may assume, how much wealth we may accumulate, or how much we are backed by powerful friends, in the end we are all alone and will leave the world empty handed."
Illustrating this thought with a beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Lanka, the seat of power of Mighty King Ravan, descendent of GOD Brahma, was made of Paras Stone, which transmutes metal into gold, and stood on the grounds abounding Jewel Jambunada. The city of Lanka was made of gold and was surrounded by sea and where lived Rakshasas, the beings of frightening appearance and size. Though there were eighy thousand beautiful women in his possession, Mandodari was the  queen consort of King Ravan. He had countless sons, grand sons and great grand sons, but his eldest son Indrajeet got his name when he conquered heavens defeating GOD Indra.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, if Four Yuga's or Era's, Satya Yuva, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, Kali Yuga constitute one cycle, then King Ravan lived for fourteen such  cycles, so long was his life. Support from his warrior brother Kumbhakarna of monstrous size increased his power multifolds.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, despite having so many riches, wielding so much power and having imprisoned 33 cores of Gods, he could take nothing with him in the end, for he came in this world alone and alone he departed, empty handed.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, only good deeds, thoughts and words accompany us forever. Only the prayers of others whose hearts we have touched with kindness and love will help our soul in the other worlds. Last but not the least he says, to live life in desire, no matter how much or how little you may have, is to live in lack. But to live life in gratitude, no matter how rich or poor you may be, is to live in genuine abundance."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, not the penances, austerities or pilgrimages, but only the Divine Melody of the Holy Ram Nam manifests the Supreme Unmanifest. When One remains absorbed in His Name Worship, it seems as if GOD is dancing to the tune of His Name.
He says, subtle He is like a dew on lotus and hence only the most subtle Ram Nam can unfold the path to His Realisation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just as a coin has two sides, but that does not mean there are two coins, the Formless Supreme Oneness manifests as GOD Vithoba standing arms akimbo on a brick in Pandharpur.
Elucidating a great paradox he says, the Supreme Essence that holds infinite cosmoses within it indwells the heart of His most faithful.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Truly Blessed are those whose love is unconditional and spontaneous and who are True to their Self, for only they know what pleases GOD the most."

Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, parroting the verses without understanding their true essence is as worthless as the heavy burden a horse carries on its back, knowing nothing about what it is carrying.

He says, True happiness comes from having a sense of inner peace and contentment which are but manifestation of the Godliness that cultivates slowly but steadily in the One who remains absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, often One gets caught in the corrupt practices of  the Spiritual Pretender because not everyone can distinguish between Truth and Falsehood as well as where to keep faith and where One must exercise caution. He says, man becomes what he surrounds himself with, for nothing perhaps affects man's character more than the company he keeps.
He says, the roots cause of Spiritual decline has its roots in lack of unconditional faith in GOD, the Vedic Scriptures and also One's inability to find a Truly Spiritually Wise who walks his talk to steer the seeker on his Self Quest."

Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like clouds in the sky appear to be of substance but are merely a great void, the life appears to be perpetual when it is not.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Divine play of creation, destruction and recreation is going on since time immemorial. Unless One tries consciously to reduce his Karmic Debt, the endless cycle of death and rebirth is inevitable.
He says, the only way to stop the endless accumulation of effects of our Karma is to accept that not we but GOD is the Doer. In other words, we must offer our falsehood to GOD who eagerly awaits for us to surrender our instinctive mind to Him, for it is the way to enjoy Bliss with no bounds."

He says, if One accepts life without complaints and is happy in the state he is with whatever he has or do not have, then he becomes recipient of the Supreme Bliss of the contentment from within.

Sant Tukaram Maharaj  says, more than mere entertainment, Harikatha or Story of GOD must become an experience by making One aware of the preciousness of his rare human birth to seek Liberation.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like true contentment descends on the One who feels full after a meal, GOD manifests when One remains absorbed in His Name Worship, the noblest of all virtues. He says, the Holy Ram Nam is readily available to all like the air we all breath, yet very few spend a lifetime to experience it."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like the big journeys begin with small steps, a journey of Self Quest becomes effortless and enjoyable if each step is taken in fond remembrance of GOD. He says, young, old are just words, for the Name Worship of GOD can be practiced by all, anytime, without distinction, because it slowly reframes our perspective on ourselves and the world.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the Name Worship of GOD may be tiring at times but  leaves no doubt in the mind of the seeker about what he is doing, for it is a wake up call from the age old slumber of ignorance.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, since the Name and Named are the same, he who remains absorbed in the Name Worship of GOD wholeheartedly is Blessed with His constant nearness, an experience of Divine Ecstasy."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, often a mere ritual is misconstrued as a True Worship of GOD. He says, often One gets involved in the religious paraphernalia so much that GOD becomes a stranger and the worship remains merely a ritual, thus emphasizing the sense of duality, a seeming opposite of the True Worship.
He says, a True Worship is nothing but feeling the closeness with GOD as if he is a loved one. In other words, it is a journey of transcending duality to become One with GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, nothing but a loving devotion pleases GOD the most, for He cherishes the seeker who seeks Him with affection.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, all One needs is the absolute faith that "Yes, He Exists, for when One weaves in faith, GOD will find the thread. "

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the True Liberation is the renunciation of all mental conditionings without the least reserve. It is not a bundle handed over by GOD and neither it comes from martyrdom, rituals, dogmas and sacrifices, but it follows only by being a silent witness of One's own Self.
He says, Liberation manifests when One holds his mind and senses from their gratification.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, sufferings cease for the One who performs his duty without attachment, surrendering the outcome to GOD, for he becomes like a lotus, untouched by muddy water.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj  says, just like it is worthless to cry for an injury suffered in the dream, it is not worth to grieve for what happens in our worldly life, for it is a dream state caused by our ignorance.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, surrendering to the will of GOD needs courage of conviction, for One who dares, gets rewarded handsomely on his journey of Self Realisation."

"Truth never gets old nor rusty."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the inexhaustible treasure of GOD Name Vitthal which never runs out.
He says, while the worldly riches come and go, the riches of GOD Name Vitthal are Eternal and Everlasting, and he who realises and experiences the Eternal and perennially full fountain of GOD Name Vitthal within himself, becomes Truly Blessed.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a seed planted deep in the soil yields good crop. the Name Worship of GOD Vitthal done with the tongue of thought, bestows a perpetual bliss of unparalleled kind.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the very connotation of GOD Name Vitthal is contentment, which in itself is door to GOD. It is the blessed assurance that GOD does all things well, and is, even now, making all things work for the ultimate good."

He says, praising GOD, adoring GOD and loving Him with all the heart is all he will do for all eternity, for they are his True Riches.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj  says, Blessed is the One who seeks not the material wealth but the company of the True and Wise, for it uplifts One Divinely just like a sublime aroma of sandalwood makes the lowly trees in its vicinity fragrant.
He says, he is ready to be subjected to countless birth sufferings if he is blessed with the joy of being in the company of a True and Spiritually Wise, his pathfinder to the True Liberation."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, GOD Realisation happens only when One dares not to limit himself within the boundaries of his self created image. He says, Blessed is the One who steps out of all limitations of material wealth and worldly glitter and surrenders his personal identity into that of the Divine, for it makes his "I", "Me" and "Mine" disappear into the Supreme Bliss of Oneness.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, haste makes waste in the Self Quest, for its slow unfolding becomes real only when One experiences it from deep within.."

In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, His glory surely shines within If One cleanses the mirror of his mind with the sweet remembrance of GOD Name Hari, for the constant meditation of Name is nothing but constant companionship with the Named.
He says, despite having spent countless of his lifetimes for only the Name Worship of GOD, he doesn't wish to do anything else but to pursue his Self Quest in every birth. Being truly enamoured of GOD Name Hari, he doesn't feel contented even if he repeats it again and again.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the GOD Name Hari is the Elixir of life and is a panacea of all the ills of the world , for It lulls both the body and mind to a quiet repose.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, not everything that is delicious is healthy, but GOD Name Vitthal is both, for Truly Blessed is the rare soul out of myriads who tastes the heavenly ambrosia of GOD Name incessantly.."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj implores One to cast all his worries upon GOD, for only GOD cares. He says, for it to happen One must leave everything in GOD's Hands unconditionally and consciously cultivate a mind open to everything, but attached to nothing.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, none but GOD provides food for all His creation, for GOD can do anything, but fail. He says, the Eternal peace dawns on the One who gives all his worries to GOD in prayer, for faith is the assurance about what we do not see but feel from deep within."

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Supreme Consciousness which pervades entire universe yet remains unaffected owing to its absolute subtlety. He says, just like a lotus leaf remains untouched by water, Blessed is the Self Realised Soul who performs his duty without attachment, surrendering the outcome to GOD, thus remaining untouched by the burden of Karma and Akarma or what is manifest outside and what is going on inside.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like a bed of grass has nothing but grass, the Eternal and all pervasive Supreme Consciousness transcends what we perceive as pure and impure, for they are mere reflections of our individual self in the good and evil of our minds.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, there is no duality in the Supreme Consciousness. The division between Karma and Akarma, Pure and Impure, Sins and Virtues are but the play of Maya, the Mistress of Illusion. He says, we are One, we have always been One. We will always be One until we think we are not. "

In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about solitude and contemplative silence, for solitude is a sacred place of silence where GOD has access to our inner being and soul. He says, meditating in solitude being the  dialogue with the Self is not mere thinking of GOD, but being in the presence of the Divine.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the contemplative silence he enjoys, that evokes within him a sense of wonder, of awe, of mystery, of belonging is just like the One who is tempted to savour again and again the tasty food he relishes the most.
He says, having been enamoured by the devotion of GOD Govinda, he has become free from the otherwise irresistible temptation of the mundane existence. He says, his affinity to GOD being growing by leaps and bounds, he prays and let GOD worry.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says,  his mind resting in GOD Pandurang is the culmination of his contemplative prayer becoming his way of life. "
