"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the cowherd girls were awestruck contemplating the sublime beauty of their beloved Lord Hari.

He says, the cowherd girls are all ears to His Glory and embrace His Love, for it creates the devotional fervour to move them into ecstatic communion with GOD.

He says, their sense of 'I am this body' was lost when they cried hard in their woes of separation from their beloved."
