In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj illustrates his longing for GOD from deep within with beautiful analogies.
He says, his yearning for the Divine is like the  Chakor Bird, who is believed to be intensely in love with moon and needs no other food but moonlight to sustain itself. So it waits patiently for the full moon night when the luminous rays of its beloved fill it to the brim with joy.
In another analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, his longing for visiting Pandharpur, the abode of GOD Vitthal is just like the yearning with which a newly married girl awaits the invitation from her parents to visit them for Diwali festivities.
He says, his ache to meet GOD Vitthal is like a hungry baby crying desparately to seek attention of the  mother.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj, having pursued nothing but only Self Quest implores GOD to Bless him with His Realisation, the true purpose of his rare human birth."
