In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj implores to make use of every moment of this rare human birth for the noblest of causes, the Self Realisation.
He says, the world we inhabit is a mighty web of deception. It makes us forget that one day the blood will not cruise in our veins so gladly and it will make us still. The material wealth, bloom of youth and beauty fades fast and cannot be relied upon, for they all resemble water in an unmade pot which takes hardly any time to crack.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, though "I am the body" idea is the root cause of all sufferings, it is this human body, that ultimately becomes our conduit to the Self Realisation. In other words, instead of chasing frivolous material pursuits, One needs to make effective use of his human body as a capital to earn a handsome return of Self Realisation.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, among the innumerable species, only human being is endowed with the sense of discrimination with which he can make a conscious effort to put an end to the endless cycle of deaths and rebirths and attain GOD Realisation.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, life is short and there are many obstacles to get over, for the only way to make this rare human birth fruitful is total surrender to the Will of GOD, as it is the sure path to Eternal Bliss. "
