"It is said that "Deeming false to be real is the stubborn nature of deluded mind."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the futility of chasing this mirage like world, in which everything born must perish, so is our physical body which diminishes with every passing moment. He says, the thirsty deer sees the shiny false water and runs for a short distance to drink it, but the mirage shifts ahead. Running again after a shimmering glaze which creates an illusion of water, the deer again finds water vanishing. This goes on till the point where the deer falls tired, thirsty and utterly disappointed. Similar is the dilemma we humans face, where we are prone to get enticed by the illusion of happiness created by greed and passion inside us, to fall prey to bondage of our senses.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the alluring worldly charm cast by Maya, the Mistress of Illusion is like a shadow and not worth chasing it. Hence he says, the awareness of the ephemeral nature of our existence makes One ponder about what is really worthwhile to make this rare human birth fruitful on the journey of Self Quest.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the present life is just an unfoldment or revelation of the predestined Karma with which One comes fully loaded into the world. Just like a poor silk worm imprisoned in its own cocoon or a spider caught in its own web, One remains bound by the clutches of his own making, with no way of escape at all.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, regardless of being loved by family and friends, a man is all alone in his rendezvous with death. The soulless body is swallowed by flames on the funeral pyre leaving behind nothing materially but only memories.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, life is short and unpredictable. Hence waste not the precious time, but utilize most of this rare human birth for the noblest of causes, the Self Realisation."
