" All of us in this illusory bondage inexorably pursue the illusive pleasures of the senses under the belief, "I am the body."
' I am the body " idea binds the being to the material world. The journey within is thwarted when the Self is tempted by senses. Our brooding over the objects of senses gives rise to attachments to them. The false ego associated with the body consciousness is the foremost evil and all beings in this world are afflicted with this evil. Like waves on the surface of ocean  the names and forms we assume have validity so long we are conscious of them through our false ego.Like the incense stick, the body and mind born of the false ego must perish. That which dies with the death of body is the " I am the body " idea. However when we shift our false ego towards it's source, the Supreme Consciousness, the names and forms merge back into totality, as it were. Hence if we do not mend our outlook then what gave us this present body will surely give us the next one also.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj elucidates this thought. He says,
Only when the mind gets purified through the Name Worship of Supreme Lord Shri Ram, it moves towards the Supreme Self  causing the body consciousness to disappear. Just as the snake abandons his skin effortlessly, the body consciousness can be abandoned by One seeking Supreme Self through Name Worship of the Divine Lord.
The Self has a tendency to be influenced by the routine to which it is subjected. And hence One needs to make a conscious effort to make the Name Worship of Supreme Lord Shri Ram a routine for the Self.
The incessant recital of Holy Ram Nam is the sure way to transcend beyond the body consciousness and hence to seek the Eternal True self
Our True Self does not die because it is bodiless, spaceless, timeless and beyond all material logic. "
