जगा काळ खाय I

आम्ही माथा दिले पाय II

नाचो तेथे उभा राहे I

जाता व्यंग करी साहे II

हरीच्या गुणे घाला I

होता खातची भुकेला II

तुका म्हणे हळू I

झाला कढत शितळू II

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, we stand with our feet on the head of death, subjugating the inevitable that swallows the world entire.

He says, where we dance in the ecstasy of "Hari Naam", the subdued sees to it than nothing lacks.

He says, death whose hunger is never satiated felt hearful content by praising the glory of Lord Hari.

He says, death which was like the hot raging flames.turned cold by "Hari Naam".
