माया तेचि ब्रम्ह ब्रम्ह तेचि माया I

अंग आणि छाया जयापरी II

तोडीतां न तुटे सारितां निराळी I

लोटांगणातळी हारपते II

दुजे नाही तेथे बळ कोणासाठी I

आणिक ते अटी विचाराची II

तुका म्हणे उंच वाढे उंचपणे I

ठेंगणी लवणे जैसी तैसी II

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like man and his shadow appear distinct yet they are one, Maya, the Cosmic Illusion makes one appear as many.

He says, no weapon can cut a shadow and neither it can be pushed away, for it ceases to exist as soon as One falls prostrate. In other words the duality of 'Me & Mine' ceases with Self Surrender, the quintessence of true devotion.

He says, shadow is tall if we stand tall and it is short if we stand short. In other words it is up to us what we want to become, the ignorant of ignorance or awakened from the slumber of ignorance."
