जाळी महा कर्मे I

दावी निजसुख वर्मे II

ऐसे कळले आम्हां एक I

झालो नामाचे धारक II

तपाचे सायास I

न लगे घ्यावा वनवास II

तुका म्हणे येणे I

कळीकाळा हे ठेंगणे II

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, having realised the sublime essence that roasts the seeds of ignorance, I have become the Name Worshipper of GOD.

He says, observance of austerities, pilgrimages to holy places or life of a solitude in the deep recesses of the forest do not come up to the merit of 'Hari Naam', for the death frightens not he who remains absorbed in 'Hari Naam', the noblest of all virtues."
