स्मशान ते भूमि प्रेतरुप जन I
सेवाभक्तीहीन ग्रामवासी II
भरतील पोट श्रानाचिया परी I
वस्ती दिली घरी यमदूतां II
अपूज्य लिंग तेथे अतित नेघे थारा I
ऐसी वस्ती चोरां कंटकांची II
तुका म्हणे नाही ठावी स्थिती मती I
यमाची निश्चिती कुळवाडी II

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the village where live the atheist, who lack the belief in the existence of GOD is nothing but a crematory ground and the inhabitants but the living dead. He says, living a dog's life with the sole purpose summed up with only one word "Survival" is accepting the inevitability of the repeated sufferings without doing any conscious effort to become free from its bondage.
He says, a traveller finds no place to rest and recoup in a village devoid of temple where live the Godless.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, those who do not understand that the true purpose of this rare human birth is GOD Realisation are nothing but a bonded labour, enslaved forever to Yama, the GOD of Death."
