"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about cultivating Humility, for it is that low, sweet root, from which all GODLY virtues shoot.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy he says, just like a riverbed grass survives a mighty flood which shows no mercy to even giant trees or just like a good swimmer doesn't defy the big waves of ocean but lets them pass over him, it is the Humility that saves the seeker of Self Quest from distraction of worldly obstacles.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a strong man will be unable to do anything if One holds his feet firmly. Here  the feet being lowliest of limbs, holding them firmly symbolizes becoming Humble. He says, Blessed is the One who practices Humility, for Lowliness is the base of all virtue, and only he who goes the lowest can rise to the zenith of GOD Realisation."
