"Oneness isn't just experiencing something, it's a state of being."
Every single thing is an aspect of Supreme Consciousness. The Whole never loses contact with its parts, they are never lost or forgotten. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about Oneness of Supreme Essence which the Scriptures narrate as तत् or "THAT". He says, to understand or experience anything, we need to compare it to something else, which immediately brings us face to face with Duality. Oneness by itself is incomparable. Talking about Oneness he says, we are One, we will always be One, until we think we are not. However when we convey our feelings to GOD or when we ask something from GOD, we assume GOD as different from us. In a way this sense of separation makes us forget our Oneness. The illusory world of Duality so created thus leads to suffering. The root cause of all conflicts is the mistaken belief that we are separate.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj has illustrated this with a beautiful analogy. He says, just like a mother instinctively knows when her child feels famished, so is GOD who doesn't have to be told of what his devotee seeks from Him, for part is never different from the Whole.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a disabled man may cross a mountain by sheer Will power, for the Will which makes this otherwise impossible task as possible is nothing but GOD's Will. Oneness is always with us as the underlying essence of everything. We have to go beyond senses, beyond Duality to experience Oneness."
