"We never get what we want, We never want what we get, We never have what we like, We never like what we have. That's Life."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about our endless desire for more, more and more.
This insatiable desire for more is nothing but seeking fulfilment outside ourselves, rather than within.
Our conditioned mind makes us believe that happiness is found through what we are able to achieve and aquire. He says, what few people understand is that the more you want, the more you seem to lack.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, to the mind, there is never enough. With every desire chased, you lose the Inherent Awareness Eternally present in you to the false sense of lack, rather than fullness of your being, your True Nature. With evey thing you want, you lose yourself even further.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a conscious effort to find out what you are actually looking for, is much needed. We must make a Self Probe to find out if there is any end to our wanting or when will it be? We must look within and find out if our life has become an endless pursuit for something which will hardly bear its promised fruit.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, to escape the false egoic need for more, we must realise that, in the quest for happiness, Nothing is Everything. What we truly desire, more than anything else, is the end of desire. This is the Absolute and True happiness which is not relative to anything. It is the presence of Pure Awareness empty of desire, and this can only be found within Oneself, as Oneself.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, you are the very thing you are searching for. When you realise what is false, the Truth will shine. The more One understands the Indwelling Essence, the more it is realised that nothing is needed but the spontaneity of the Ever and Alive Supreme Awareness, for this is the vitality of your Self, from which all the happiness flows."
