"It is said that "It was not curiosity that killed the goose who laid the golden egg, but an insatiable greed that devoured common sense."
Avarice is a bottomless pit which exhausts a person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction. The world has enough for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed. If One is not contented with what he has, then surely he would experience no contentment in what he desires. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the insatiable avarice of mankind where man wants more and more without end. He says, restlessness of a man caused by lust of avarice, like a bothersome child, keeps growing and is forever the same. Everything interests him but nothing holds him.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, our worldly mind in the captivity of "I am the body" idea is as fidgety as a Restless Monkey. Jumping here and there senselessly, seeks anything it sets it's eyes on, without bothering of consequences. Just like the monkey, we, in our mundane existence, wander aimlessly all our life, without trying to understand that  tranquility of mind is all about hearing the whispers of our Inner Self.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, Mind is a powerful Force to be Reckoned with. It can Enslave us or Empower us. It can Plunge us into the Depths of Misery or take us to the Heights of Ecstasy. One must learn to use the immense power of mind Wisely."
