It is said that "For a believer, no explanation is necessary. For a non-believer, no explanation is possible."
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about a Non Believer (नास्तिक) for whom material sense gratification is standard of civilization. He says, for an Atheist (नास्तिक) who lacks an active belief in God, everything revolves round "I am the body" idea. Thus for him his body is God, catering to the needs of body is Devotion and death of the body is Liberation. This is in contradiction to what Scriptures have propounded since time immemorial that the perishable body is merely an apparel which is bound to wither over the time while the Supreme Self residing within is immortal. This precious human birth is a wonderful opportunity to understand the True Nature of Self and hence to attain Self Realisation. An Atheist with his body centric thinking believes that everything that can be done to satisfy bodily desires is the only thing worth in life. The veil of ignorance does not allow him to see the real purpose of this rare human birth which is to attain Liberation from the endless cycles of deaths and rebirths.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, unless One transcends beyond "I am the body" idea, the shadow of repeated sufferings will continue to haunt forever the One caught in the web of deception of this illusory world. "
