II श्रीराम जय राम जय जय राम II
विश्वव्यापी माया I
तिने झाकुळीले छाया II
सत्व गेले भोळयावरी I
अविद्येची चाली थोरी II
आपुलेचि मन I
करी आपणा बंधन II
तुका म्हणे देवा I
तुम्ही कोड़ी ही उगवा II
The word " Maya " literally means " that which is not ". It is the imagination of conditioned mind which never ends. It continually baffles humanity, and poses the greatest roadblock in the journey of Self Realisation by making mirrage like attractions of the material world which appear very real. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says,
Just as the film is projected on the screen, the world ensues forth from the Supreme Consciousness and appears as if it is real. It is very much like a dream of the Divine Consciousness, which lasts as long as it is projected, and disappears when it is withdrawn. Thus, the world in which we live is a mere illusion and untrue. Beings do not know it, and take it for real. However when the truth dawns on them, they transcend the unreal and become conscious of the look within. He says that a million desires engulf the mind. How can One make a room for the Divine Presence unless he vacates His domain ?
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the very nature of Supreme Self is pure Joy. This is never perceived because the mind is completely externalised. As long as the mind is restlessly wandering, ever fluctuating, excited, agitated and uncontrolled, this true joy cannot be realised and enjoyed. He says, may the Divine, the Supreme Indweller inspire all to attempt mind control and bestow success to them to free their mind from the crocodile grip of desires. "
