" The material nature of world is crooked like a dog's tail, it's nature is to curl. Especially if One is pursuing the path of truth on his journey of Self Realisation, there will be plenty of insults and dishonour from others. Devotee Prahlad tolerated the insults and pain inflicted on him by his father and continued his progress with conviction and determination in spite of many hurdles. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the seeker of Supreme Self must inculcate the noble virtue of tolerance from deep within to maintain equipoise in all circumstances. The noble virtue of tolerance also translates as forgiveness. Forgiveness is a reflection of God's eternal calm, the everlasting patience, peace, mercy, forbearance, gentleness and compassion, which are very essential for contemplation and meditation. A person devoid of forgiveness is not attuned with his Godly nature.
Divine virtues and falsehood cannot coexist. Just like gold ore in its natural state must be heated to remove of its impurities, the realisation of the false beliefs clinging to our conditioned mind enables us to drop them away consciously. The root cause of evil passions thus melts away and the spiritual life dawns as there will be no anxieties or material conditionings.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the journey of Self Realisation unfolds only when One learns to be tolerant with evenmindedness amidst happiness and distress. The virtues of tolerance and forgiveness are worth pursuing, because it is the mirror of Timeless Reality. "
