" In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the paramount importance of pious feelings from within of the seeker of Supreme Self irrespective of his outward appearance. The pious feelings emanate when One reins the evils deeply ingrained within.It is the field on which spirituality flourishes.
Illustraing with beautiful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj says ,
Hard veneer of coconut holds divine sweetness in its belly.
The pulp of the jackfruit smells sweet despite having bumpy fleshy exterior.
The salt does not taste good by itself but makes sense when it seasons the food.
Regardless of its dark appearance, juice of a ripe sugarcane not only quenches our thirst but revitalises the self.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the outward appearance can be deceptive. Nothing but piousness from within is a prerequisite to seek the journey of Self Realisation.
