The soul residing in the body is the indwelling witness. It is but futile to portray soul as confined or untramelled entity as it is neither. Illustrating this with beautiful analogies Sant Tukaram Maharaj says,
Mirage is an optical illusion displaying appearance of sheet of water. Being an illusion, One needs no effort getting across it. Trying to cross a mirage is as untrue as decribing the Supreme Self as a physical entity.
There is no actual profit or loss as such when children play trading assuming stones as their currency. The falsity of the currency is but similar to assuming the Supreme Self as something that can be gauged by earthly parameters.
Weddings and bride dolls have fascinated little girls for generations. The puppet weddings carry a lot of enthusiasm but it's falsehood is as evident as black and white.
Similarly feelings of elation or sorrow experienced in state of dream has no trueness when awake.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that few pawns die and others remain alive in a chess game. But their death or life is as fictitious as assuming Eternal Soul as a spatial or unbounded.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the immortal soul is indescribable by any worldly means and to do so will be to sprint into an abyss, a bottomless pit. "
