In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, more than having merely the means to an end, what matters most is how we make effective use of the means to get the desired end.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy he says, we may have all ingredients necessary for cooking. But the food will be cooked delicious only if we make appropriate use of each of the ingredient.
He says, war stories are exciting and fascinating heard than lived.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, nothing could be better than following the footsteps of a Truly Wise, for his Wisdom enlightens those who have taken refuge at his feet just like the lowly trees growing near the Sandalwood become scented with its sublime fragrance. In other words the means become an end in itself only in the company of the Truly Wise."
