शरीर अविद्येचा बांधा I
शरीर अवगुणांचा रांधा I
शरीरी वसे बहुत बाधा I
नाही गुण सुधा एक शरीरी II
शरीर सकळ शुद्ध I
शरीरी निधींचाही निध I
शरीरे तुटे भवबंध I
वसे मध्यभागी देव शरीरा II
शरीरा सुख नेदाचा भोग I
न द्यावे दुःख न करी त्याग I
शरीर वोखटे ना चांग I
तुका म्हणे वेग करी हरिभजनी II

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, our body is the mix of all undesirables bound together by ignorance, yet it is pristine, for in it dwells GOD and only through it we can break free from the shackles of ignorance.
And therefore Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, pleasure it not or let it suffer, for the body is neither good nor bad. All that matters is how we utilize it for the Name Worship of GOD, the true purpose of this rare human birth."
