II श्रीराम जय राम जय जय राम II
ऐसा दुस्तर भवसागर I
नेणो कैसा उतरु पार II
कामक्रोधादी सावजे थोर I
दिसताती भयंकर II
मायाममतेचे भोवरे I
घेती भयानक फेरे II
वासनेच्या लहरी येती I
उद्वेग हेलकावे वसती II
तरावया एक युक्ती असे I
तुका नामनावेमधे बैसे II
"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the world we see is Bhavasagar, an ocean of Maya, the Cosmic Illusion which seems to be very real when it is not. Nevertheless we must cross it in this very rare human birth with our body as the boat, though with thousand holes.
Describing this difficult task he says, the weaknesses of human personality such as lust and anger lurk like wild beasts, always ready to pounce. Similarly caught in the whirlpool of attachment there is all possibility of One getting drowned in it, for attachment itself is a great fabricator of illusions.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the big waves of Vasana or longings incessantly overwhelm and hence compel One to act in certain manner, for fruit of desire is Karma which may be pain or pleasure.
He implores all to ride with him in a boat of Ram nam, for it is a sure way to cross the ocean of sufferings forever.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, remaining absorbed in the constant recital of Ram Nam is a beautiful way to become Unattached Observers of the events happening all around us and understanding that we are " in this world, but not of it."
