देवे दिला देह भजना गोमटा I
तो या झाला फाटा बाधिकेच्या II
ताठोनिया मान राहिली वरती I
अहंकारा हाती लवो नेदी II
दास म्हणावया न वळे रसना I
सइर वचना वास गळे II
तुका म्हणे कोठे ठेवावा विटाळ I
स्नाने निर्मळ व्हावयासी II

"In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, human body is the best conduit One can have to attain Self Realisation. However it is the ignorance of "I am the body" idea that makes us believe that the body with which we identify ourselves is the Truth, when in reality it is just a mirage and will be snatched away from us in the twinkling of an eye.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, "I am the body" idea weighs us down so much that by seeing we see but do not perceive, by hearing we hear but do not understand, for as long as we are "at home in the body" we are far from GOD.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, bowing down with reverence is impossible for the One in the grip of the false ego sense which is born of body consciousness. He says, there is no panacea for the waggling tongue of the One who is reluctant to openly accept that he is devotee of GOD.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, sacred is the body through which One can attain Self Realisation in his rare human birth. But mere cleaning of the body is not enough, for One must consciously wipe out the real filth, the ignorance of "I am the body" idea which is the root cause of all sufferings."
