It is said that "Truth has no fear. Untruth shivers at every shadow. "An infant doesn't know what fear is. However as it grows up he becomes aware of what fear is. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about inculcating an awareness of this awareness which is vital on the journey of Self Realisation. He says, there is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth and persistent refusal to analyze the cause of happening.
Illustrating with beautiful analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, when the child is not exposed to the world of letters, the mystery creates wonder. While introducing children to alphabets, the teacher places pebbles on the letters. He discards the pebbles one by one as the child becomes acquainted to the alphabets so that in the end the child needs no pebbles to identify the letters. The veil of mystery unfolds as soon as the truth is revealed.
In another analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a rope appears as snake till One doesn't become aware that what he is seeing is mere rope and nothing else.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, when One knows that there is nothing like an imaginary monster that exists, he becomes free from the fear the monster has created in our minds. The fear of a name increases a fear in thing itself.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, there is no illusion greater than fear. Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood. This rare human birth is the time to understand its true purpose, the Self Realisation, for then only we can become fearless. "
