"Pure Gold does not rust, but the Gold Plated is a different story altogether, for if One on his pursuit of Golden Dream of Self Realisation choses to be in the company of someone who pretends to be Spiritually Wise, there is all possibility that he can rust at any time. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj has elucidated this thought with beautiful analogies. He says,
Just like a frog in a pond cannot conceive of the ocean, One laden with material possessions is just unable to fathom what it means to be free from "I am the body" idea.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like the Crow imitating the gait of Swan loses even his own, no one can hide behind a mask forever. The pretense soon lapses into the true character, for solid character will reflect itself in consistent behaviour while poor character will seek to hide behind deceptive words and actions.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like One who rides not a donkey but an elephant is not afraid of barking dogs, the poise of a Self Realised Soul remains unperturbed by the noises made by shallow minds, for the fake people have an image to maintain, the Wise just don't care.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, just like all that glitters is not Pure Gold, we must learn who is Gold and who is Gold Plated, for in deep waters, you encounter only the Wise and Brave while in shallow waters, the ignorant and the coward."
