"Liberation ( मोक्ष) is freedom from ignorance, We suffer because of ignorance, for it is the sense of not knowing Oneself. Our Conditioned Consciousness of "Me" and "Mine" is very strong in us. The "I am the body" idea never let's it's guard down and is ever alert.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the notion of "I am the body" idea when it is not, is the root cause of all sufferings. Every matter is made of five basic elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether so is human body. At death the five basic elements get dissolved into the Mighty Creation. However the false ego sense that envelopes the body as soon as it comes into existence needs to be annihilated with conscious effort, else it will be an aimless wandering.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, the perishable body dwindles with every passing moment. Its degeneration is beyond human control. Holding dearly "I am the body" idea is just like carrying a heavy burden. A donkey carries a heavy load on its back, but it is unaware as well as least interested of what he is carrying. However we the humans, with our sense of discrimination, know the nature of burden we are carrying which is "I-ness" and hence must consciously do everything possible to offload it, otherwise there is no way out of the gruelling cycle of deaths and rebirths. He says, Liberation (मोक्ष) is not entering into a mere void and there losing yourself, but it is entering into Truth, becoming part of Truth, for there is no GOD higher than Truth."
