" It is said that,
"Do not meditate - be
Do not think that you are - be
Don't think about being - you are"
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about the feeling of two-ness or Duality, which gives rise to the phenomenal world of names and forms. Just as the silkworm weaves it's own cocoon and binds itself to death, the man fancies this pluralistic world and gets caught in it. The only solace for the One caught in this web of duality is the Holy Ram Nam, for only it can dispel all the darkness born of ignorance. This body is the merchant's warehouse and has in it the Holy Ram Nam as wares. A rare buyer may get it through the teachings of a Spiritually Wise.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, only when the mind looks at the immutable Truth within, it renounces "I am the body" idea and attains the Divine Consciousness.
Bereft of Spiritual Wisdom, people worship ignorance and carry on rituals, vows and sacrifices. These practices performed with definite purpose along with the strong notion of "I am the body" enhance egotism. However if One thinks that merely performing these rituals he can mend his mind, he could not be any more lost.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says, a true pilgrimage for the soul is the Holy Ram Nam which is replete with Wisdom of Supreme Self. It will dawn only when One overcomes the spell of Maya, the Mistress of Illusion which keeps him in bondage of worldly possessions and worldly relations.
Last but not the least he says,
When One goes beyond awareness, there is a state of Non Duality, in which there is only Pure Being. In the state of Non Duality, all separation ceases. "
