In the frail and perishable body that Divine hosts, lies the seed of immortality which one day must germinate. The body is nothing but a screen to shield and partially reveal the light that glows within. It is the finest asset we human beings have to make this rarest of rare human birth fruitful .A healthy mind indwells in a healthy body, as only from the heart can One touch the sky, attain Self Realisation. The human body is like a flute. Just like a breath flowing across it's holes creates a melody so is the Supreme Essence in its awakening, transcends One from Body Consciousness to Supreme Consciousness. Hence One must make a conscious effort to make use of this rarest of rare but certainly perishable human body as an instrument to attain the highest, the Self Realisation.
In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj talks about this thought. He says,
We, human beings cognize the physical world around us through five sense organs of perception. Each of these senses is related to the five subtle elements, Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth of which this body is made of. The desire is sense of longing for something. If One yearns material pursuits then the Sense and Desires become the foremost and deepest mental hindrance as One gets trapped forever in their deathly clutches. Hence Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that One must remind Self of the bitter truth that we brought nothing in this world and we cannot take anything out of the world. Even the body One Is born with is reduced to ashes when One parts from life. Every material wealth born out of sense desires will perish with the body in the end. Illustrating with beautiful analogies he says,
One lives a Colourful life, but in the end when vitality ceases, the lifeless body is nothing but the Black and White truth of what life is all about.
While enjoying comfort of warm bed, One forgets that when this fleeting existence will be over, he will be in the proximity of only funeral pyre and nothing else.
SummIng up Sant Tukaram Maharaj earnestly imlores to inculcate from within, the incessant recital of Holy Ram Nam as it cultivates a sense of detachment from within which is so vital on the journey to Self Realisation, the Eternal Abode of the Supreme Lord Shri Ram. "
