" The heart that is humble before the Divine has no sorrow, when it comes to obeying and doing God's will. It has no sorrow when sin is forsaken and all desires turn more and more towards God. The humble heart labors that their desires become God's desires. In pain or suffering, it's desired success in life is living successfully in the will of God, for God's pleasure and glory alone matters. The humble heart grows in full acceptance that true success in God's eye is not measured by numbers and worldly wealth, but by honouring God. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj insists that love of the Divine must be absolute and unconditional, as if One's survival depends on it. Illustrating with beautiful analogies he says,
Water is essential for all living beings but fish die when they are out of water. Except for fish the need of water is conditional. However the survival of fish is at stake with water. In the similar way a true devotee is tormented agonizingly even with a momentary lapse of his memory of God.
In another analogy Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the Sunflower cannot blossom without sunshine.Just like the Sunflower, the seeker of Supreme Self needs a constant reminder of the Supreme Divine, which is but the life force for him on his journey within.
Summing up Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that the journey of Self Realisation unfolds only when One seeks God unconditionally just like a mother takes care of her child and with reason-less devotion. "
