The Self Realised Soul is a custodian of the Divine Wisdom and inexhaustible spiritual wealth. Being the exponent of the Divine Quotient, he inspires others to attain the Eternal Bliss which he enjoys from within. In this composition Sant Tukaram Maharaj implores earnestly to seek vicinage of a Self Realised Soul who has relinquished every sense gratification arising from mental concoctions. Illustrating with beautiful analogies he says,
Be it a bright radiant glow of a diamond or bright sunshine or glow of a lamp, they uncover the darkness and bring to light any matter in the universe. But revealing of Supreme Consciousness is beyond their realm. Only the Self Realised Souls can unveil the curtain of ignorance and hence awaken the seeker to Divine Presence from within.
The Sandalwood is known to have a cooling and soothing effect on the hot burning skin. However relieving One from the smouldering of Self due to the three basic ingredients of human psyche - Satva(goodness) Raja(passion) and Tama(darkness) is beyond its purview. Only the Wisdom of the Self Realised Soul can transcend the seeker beyond their influence.
The parents rear their children and provide them everything possible in the worldly sense, but the Liberation from the unending cycle of deaths and rebirths is beyond their sphere of perception. The Self Realised Soul being the exponent of the Divine Wisdom, parents the seeker on his journey to Self Realisation.
Food can satiate the hunger but it is unable to offer any relief from being born again and again.
Sant Tukaram Maharaj says that One must make a conscious effort to be in the vicinity of the Self Realised Soul, whose mere presence imparts encouragement to the seeker on his journey to Self Realisation. "
